Empire at War is one of the best love letters to star wars I've seen in any medium. It is filled with so much attention to detail from the films and expanded universe and just plays like some kids' dream game of commanding armies and star fleets. It's a game that is extremely investing to play with a loop that never feels annoying or repetitive. It's got a great campaign, and its Galactic conquest mode is endless hours of just pure enjoyment.

The base game is amazing, but honestly, you can't talk about empire at war anymore without talking about the modding scene. The modding scene took a really good RTS game and turned it to 11 with three mods, especially being highlights. Thrawns revenge takes empire at war and just puts it in the post endor era with some amazing chaotic galactic conflicts and being one of my personal favoured of the bunch due to just the sheer amount of factions and stuff to do there is.

Fall of the Republic is the mod made by the same team that takes empire at war and puts it into the fan favourite clone wars . What else can I really say? It's amazing.

Awakening of the rebellion acts more as an expansion upon the base game, setting it in the Galactic civil war as well, just adding more planets more units more, and everything is great.

Play empire at war. If you like RTS games especially or are just into star wars even a little it's an amazing game to play. You don't even need to be that big into RTS games since it's not particularly overwhelming with its systems. The game is always super cheap with its expansion.

Real good RTS and also Star Wars.

It's the best Star Wars RTS ever to exist (if we count FoC just as an add-on). It plays smoothly, feels like the reflection of the Star Wars universe from the time, and is really fun to play.

Units and locations from the expanded universe, really pleasant for the time visuals, lots and lots of mechanics with different modes of conquest. The combination of Space battles, Ground battles, and their mutual attachment to each other with "landing" mechanics makes it for much more deep and interesting global conquest experiences than just classic CNC-like RTS with base building and campaign.

The main problem is that there is not enough content. Factions, mechanics, and units are fun and there is a lot of stuff, but it feels more like a frame for something even bigger and full, and this "bigger" will come...

The only good Star Wars strategy game. This is basically Total War: Star Wars, with a grand campaign map, multiplayer, real time space and real time land battles. It's criminal that EA had the exclusive Star Wars license for so many years and never even tried to make an Empire at War 2. Sega - either CA or Relic - should get a chance to make a sequel to this game with as much Star Wars content as is being released since Disney bought it.

Eu gosto tanto desse jogo que eu tenho a versão em CD, mas acabei comprando a Gold Pack na Steam só pela expansão e também para poder usar os mods e jogar o online com algumas alterações para melhorar o gameplay.

Great RTS game, played it when i was a kid...

Fight the rebel scum! Join the Empire now!

Lot of nostalgia for this game, but as I've aged I don't enjoy it as much. I hate, hate, HATE the unit cap on ground battles as it acts as a hard cap to how well you can do. The space units are not as microable as I would like, coming from WC3, SCBW, or AOEII. But this is still the best Star Wars RTS and the modes and content are peak.

Great RTS game, it is really fun with extremely exiciting space battles
