I am absolutely terrible at this game- to the point where I often had to stop playing after an hour or so because I got too frustrated by how often I was getting killed, and that was on Easy- but the story and character development are both so good, so really, it was worth it. I finished the main storyline yesterday and played Left Behind today, and let me say, this game does such a good job of writing characters that you get attached to even though they're only in the game briefly- Tess, Henry and Sam, Riley... all of their deaths feel like gut punches, which is refreshing when a lot of media these days loves to kill characters for nothing but shock value. These characters' deaths all feel emotionally impactful in their own ways- though I gotta say, I like the way the show handled Tess and Sam as characters better than the game.

Expectations were high going in. Game was extremely hyped up and I’d already seen the show. Somehow exceeded my expectations.

I was very skeptical about this game all the time when it came out earlier, but I didn’t realize how thoughtful a story the game could offer and put forward ideas and the basis of our existence. The game was released in 2013 and in 7 years, it has not lost its relevance, if it ever could.

"The Last of Us" shows what would happen if humanity began to die out en masse. There is more sympathy for monsters, for former people who have become infected and cannot control themselves, than for people who are ready to act on instincts and kill life for the sake of existence and anarchy. Graphics, music, sounds, scene compositions, everything is done, yes, I will say this, at the level of a movie, but the gameplay, in this case, does not lag behind the rest. Yes, I didn’t like the crafting decisions in this game, it’s practically not felt, but the variety of possibilities pleases me every time.

The chemistry between the main characters is very strong, it is difficult to write simple characters at the same time, but at the same time reveal them to their potential maximum at the end of the story. If at the beginning we understand life and what Joel is like at the very beginning of the game, then with Ellie everything is a little more complicated. Understanding what she experienced thanks to the additional part “The Remaining of Us” everything becomes much clearer, but it is just the last part, throwing us back in the plot.

Игра вышла в 2013 году и за 7 лет, она не потеряла актуальности, если вообще может потерять когда нибудь.

"Последние из нас" показывают, что было бы, если человечество массового начало вымирать. Больше сочувствия к монстрам, к бывшим людям, которые заразились и не могут себя контролировать, чем к людям, которые готовы действовать по инстинктам и убивать жизнь, ради существования и анархии. Графика, музыка, звуки, композиции сцен, все сделано, да, я скажу это, на уровне кина, но геймплей, в этом случае, не отстает от остального. Да, мне не понравилось решения крафта в этой игре, он практически не чувствуется, но разнообразие возможностей каждый раз радует.

Химия между главными героями очень сильная, сложно написать одновременно простых персонажей, но и в тоже время раскрыть их под конец истории на потенциальный максимум. Если мы в начале понимаем жизнь и в что из себя значит Джоэл в самом начале игре, то с Элли все немного сложнее. Понимая, что она пережила благодаря, дополнительной частью "Оставшиеся из нас" все намного становится понятнее, но она как раз и проходится в последнюю очередь, бросая нас назад по сюжету.
