i normally love narrative games but this one was just okay for me. i respect that it was doing something different by exploring characters' worlds with different animations in a pre-spiderverse world, but about 1/3 through it, i realized it was going to be mostly walking around and reading a bunch of stories of how people died. sadly i just didn't find the stories all that interesting or the end payoff emotionally rewarding.

This is a good game and a really nice story. I think about the fishery segment all the time. That being said, walking simulators and games where you don't have a lot of agency aren't my preferred method. It didn't quite but as hard for me as I think it did for others, I enjoyed it but it isn't one of my favourite games ever.
The environmental design is really good. I think the story and message are just ok. I wouldn't call this a remarkable game, but I don't think I wasted my time either.
I really don't like the frequent new contextual controls, like flipping a page or winding a toy etc. Took me out of the experience totally.

One of the most amazing narratives I have ever consumed in any medium- I couldn't believe the intertextuality and genius nature of this game. truly felt like I was reading a classic gothic novel- but even better. the visuals are amazing and resonate on such a wonderful level. the atmosphere is as forbidding as ever. the commentary on generational trauma and hereditary issues goes unbelievably hard. the lore is wild the pacing is amazing- each chapter had me on the edge of my seat. I hope to be making things half as wonderful as this game one day.
Grandiose in terms of staging, the stories told in different ways and always with a different artistic style such as photography, comics or even a kite.
Some stories too ambiguous that's the only problemA story about grief, drug addiction, suicide and the monotony of life.
A rather relaxing atmosphere, particularly with the voice-over and the music out of sync with the themes of the stories
The most notable stagings are those of Lewis, Same and Gus
