Finally decided to do something about my backlog, so I created this account at the beginning of 2024 to keep track of my progress and write down my thoughts of each game I play :D

Beautiful game, incredible lighting, it can feel a little bit slow after a while but it is a very rewarding experience nonetheless, the ending leaves you pondering the whole journey.

I have to admit this is my first Remedy game, but man what a trip!

When it comes to visuals, Control is absolutely stunning. The world, the weird transitions, the lighting, everything is a delight to look at. It really does have great art direction. Control is, at least visually, a masterpiece.

Gunplay and navigation are really satisfying after some hours of progress. When fighting enemies you can’t just go all around shooting like crazy, you gotta learn how to move around your opponents and when to be a little bit defensive, but as you unlock and level up abilities and weapon forms, you start to feel that you’ve got the advantage over your enemies.

That being said, I totally understand why many people find the game boring. At some point I even asked myself if I was actually enjoying the game or if I kept going just because I wanted to keep looking at the beautiful world Remedy made.

Gameplay-wise as said before, having the majority of the weapon forms and abilities unlocked and upgraded do make the gameplay much more engaging and fun since you start to feel like a superhero.

Story-wise it can feel quite slow, sometimes a bit hard to follow, thus leaving you with many questions unanswered unless you take the time to go through all the collectibles… Which I didn’t, I looked for an explanation on YouTube after beating the game.

And I gotta say that the world-building that Remedy made for this game is also stunning and incredibly detailed. I actually think I enjoyed learning about the “lore” of this world more than the actual journey you go along with Jesse.

For the art alone I would recommend anyone to give it at least a try, but it is not for everyone indeed.

Very excited to play Alan Wake I and II :D

Beautiful setting, incredible art direction. It’s very pretty to look at just like RE4R. And yes, most of the game feels like RE4 but in first person and for me that’s just a plus.

The story starts pretty strong but as you progress it starts to lose its punch a bit.

Loved most of the characters but I gotta say I really hated Heisenberg, of course he’s supposed to be disliked, but I think his “sassy intonation” went just too far in some instances. Still, I think the voice actor (and all the others) did a great job.

If you like exploring and picking up all items and collectibles, be sure to be thorough, since there are some instances where backtracking to a specific house/corridor isn’t possible after triggering certain cutscenes and thus you can miss stuff like cooking ingredients.

Still completely worth it, had a really good time and I’m excited for the future of this franchise.
