AS LONG AS THERE'S MUSIC ILL KEEP ON DANCING

This review contains spoilers

Not as good as the previous games. I dont like the demon shit while fighting.

Lmfao why do i have to buy 8 times after burner kick and launcher?

mechanically a bit disappointing but that climax

El mejor de los 3 y con diferencia

Multivers : témoin d'une profusion de l'imaginaire ou empilement dérivatif autodestructeur ?

It looks significantly worse than its predecessor from 2014. It's sound mixing is significantly worse than its predecessor. It's level design is significantly worse than its predecessor. Enemy design is terrible. UI design is charmless and flat. The changes to combat, while interesting, feel a bit at odds with the series' precedent and expectations.
If that's not bad enough, the absolute character assassination of Bayonetta in the writing and plot just seals the deal. It's insulting.

It's not as great as other two, but this one is also very fun. Story doesn't really makes sense (which i don't really care in a hack and slash game), i dislike Viola's gameplay and the thing i hate most was the constant reliance on demon slaves. Demon slaves control good enough, but you use them SO MUCH it kills the normal combat imo. New weapons and combos are really fun. Music is great as always. Graphics and art design is good again. Sometimes changing the gameplay to platformer-esque minigame of Jeanne was quite fun honestly. And sometimes when you fought bosses, gameplay changed signicifantly which i really loved because it changes the pace to racing game etc. and hack and slash gameplay doesn't feel repetitive. Final boss was AMAZING. Overrall a solid game, with flaws. But definitely a must-play that's for sure. 8/10.

I have mixed feelings about this game. It was fun, but the Bayo formula is kinda repetitive by now, and it didn't feel that new, although they added the demons summoning and Viola gameplay. Problem: I really don't like Viola's design since the beginning, so... But her transformation is cool. The story was going fine till it gets too messy at the end. I guess they are going for a reboot in the next game? I don't get that decision, but okay. Can't wait to play the Cereza game, though.

Maybe it's the overemphasis on the Demon Slave mechanic, or maybe I wasn't enjoying the weapon selection, or maybe I just wasn't feeling the story, or maybe it was the compromised performance for the Nintendo Switch or maybe I just missed the wicked weaves from 1 & 2...

This is a great game but something about it rubbed me the wrong way compared to the first two

Certainly way better than a lot of the shit thrown at it that reviewers gave it. Its simply misunderstood. Its mechanics are so cool and so different and out there, but just like Bayonetta 1 it bogs itself down with side stuff and also doesnt teach you the mechanics at all, nor does it really give you a reason to not spam, though I think giving the player the freedom to fuck around with a ginormous move pool is a good thing sometimes, Unless you're on infinite climax. Infinite climax mode is where this game goes INSANE and I love it for that.

Bayonetta 3 review: SPOILERS ABOUND.
I cannot talk about this game without spoiling it.
This week I finally played Bayonetta 2 so I could see what Platinum Games had in store for me in the third game.
When I go into a hack and slash, my desire is fueled by gameplay. That is what matters most of all for me and the gameplay here manages to be both fantastic and lackluster.
Essentially you play as 3 characters, Bayonetta is her usual self however can summon kaiju monsters to deal epic damage in her combos.
Viola, who is the new character and has a sword playstyle alongside her parry. Making her a slight more methodic character.
Jeanne gets weird ass side scrolling segments that involve stealth and then are basically just boss rushes in a 2D plane. She gets 4 missions and the first two are just god awful. Like positvely suck. They're the worst parts of the game.
However she does get better when the final two missions are simple bosses.
The most important key factors here are Bayonetta and Viola, given you spend more time with them overall. Viola way less so but enough to warrant people hating her playstyle.
I enjoyed both of these characters. Bayonetta 3 has more weapons than ever in this game but due to the demon tied weaponery, you get less customisation options than 1 and 2. No longer can you combine weapons on your feet and hands. It's all or nothing but they do get unique demons to help allow different traversal mechanics and playstyles.
I enjoyed how Bayonetta played, I think by the end I stopped missing the choices of feet and hands. I felt the variety of demons helped a lot here and made it seem a lot more fine tuned.
Viola I felt was also really enjoyable. A lot of people hate her playstyle but I do genuinely think she is a lot of fun. Pulling off her parry is tight if you want perfect witch time but because you don't play her as much as Bayonetta, you are given just enough time with her to master and pull off some really awesome combos. Though she feels slower than Bayo, I think it worked.
The levels are beautiful as well. The landscapes and different countries you visit in the multiverse adventure is fantastic. They are so well created set pieces.
However, the actual exploring of them sucks and is easily the worst part of the game for me. The level designs are atrocious and boring. They are only as large as they are so you will go do collectables and it's painstakingly noticable that they serve no other purpose.
This game would take half as long if it weren't for these barren worlds that you run in. Easily the worst in the series.
Now the story.
It's a multiverse baby!!! Key word of the year unlocked!
So they confirm Bayo 1 and 2 are seperate beings entirely and have far more Bayonettas to exist. With how hot multiverse is in media right now, I didn't mind Bayo's trip into it. It worked out a lot and made for a fun ending where all 3 are kicking ass and taking names.
The story follows universes being destroyed and Viola tasks herself with finding Bayo 3 Bayonetta and helping save the universes by finding what easily is predicted as the main villian.
I think the issue with the plot overall is that it is predictable. The main villian is so obvious it hurts. Viola being Luke and Bayos kid is also beyond obvious from their costume designs and personality.
I don't mind it all being super predictable but them trying to be coy about it, is adorable.
That does bring up what a lot of people are saying is an issue. Bayonetta does indeed have a child with Luka. Making a lot of fans angry. My 2 cents is simply that she's never had a confirmed sexuality and honestly making Viola her kid going for the "Next Generation" story is simple as can be. The next in line is as easy as you can get to beginning a new story.
Bayonetta 3 ends the series with all Bayonettas and Lukas seemingly dying while Bayo 3 Luka and Bayonetta go to hell as Viola continues the family name.
It's a damn good reset and I can see that the writers want to move on with a new generation, much like Devi May Cry is going with Nero.
Overall, I liked Bayonetta 3. It's controversies with the VA and how Bayo ends up in the final moments has sparked a lot of discussion.
What is here though is a really enjoyable game that should be played

Baal Zebul rhythm boss fight gets a point on it's own . That scene fucking rocks.

Going into the Bayonetta 3 later than most people, I didn't have high expectations with all the backlash this game was getting from the fans.
After now beating the game, I see where this backlash is coming from. However, at it's core Bayonetta 3 is still a very good game with some major flaws that held this from being the best in the trilogy.
Being one of the most ambitious Platinum games, it contains some of the highest highs in the franchise, while also bearing some of the lowest lows, with the lows here being bad enough to drag down it's "Great" status that both Bayo 1 and 2 hold.

To start with the good, playing as Bayonetta is as good as ever. She has the largest and most diverse arsenal ever and I enjoyed all the weapons offered. I had an abosulte blast with every second as Bayo and really wanted more.
The scale of the bossfights are the biggest and (arguably) the best. The only comparison I can make here is that each big bossfight feels like something Final Fantasy 16 did with it's huge bossfights where it would mesh the great standard gameplay, with amazing cinematics and fun minigames in between making something absolutley grand and satisfying.
The multiverse scenario also brings foward some of the best and most diverse settings in a Bayonetta game. Playing to find out where I would end up next was a great treat.
While the demon slave system did have some problems which I will go into detail with, I still appreciated the inclusion of it and how it made you truly feel like the demon witch Bayonetta has always been, with the abiity to summon your favorite hair demon and mog anything both big an small.

With those positives, Bayo 3 would have easily been my favorite in the trilogy, but this is where I bring in the issues that severely brought it down.
I will start with the complaint that most people have with this game and it's with the new character Viola.
Viola as a character herself is not nearly as endearing as Bayo, or Jeanne, or even Luca. All I can really say about her character is that she's just a typical clumsy teenager.
Now her gameplay was the worst part. I could not really enjoy her gameplay as she played like a watered down Vergil from DMC. All the diverse weapons, combos and fun that Bayo has in her gameplay is sucked dry with Viloa. She has one Summon too which makes the gameplay even worse as you can't control it, and while summoned Viloas combat becomes even worse with the loss of her katana. She takes about 1/3rd of the game, a 1/3rd that could have easily gone to more Bayo gameplay. This alone soured the game for me and brought the hype I had from the beginning right down.

Previously I also praised the Demon slave system, and while I do like the inclusion of it, it is simply too overpowered and takes away a lot of Bayo's fantastic gameplay. Most of the time you are expected to use it as the game now presents you with a lot of gigantic enemies that you are expected to deal with by summoning the demons. I simply would have enjoyed fighting these giant enemies playing as Bayo alone, but if you try to do that you deal chip damage which takes a much longer time than just using your summons. To fix it, all they had to do was nerf the magic bar. As the magic bar just auto regenerates really quickly, you basically have unlimited summoning time. Repeneshing the magic bar should have not been automatic and should have only been filled up by using items or raking up combos (or any other way to reward good gameplay).

In short, you barely get to have some good time with Bayo's combat, because you're forced to play as a shitty character 1/3rd of the time and with the inclusion of demon slaves, there is even less opportunity to combo your foes as Bayo.

The story was one of the biggest complaints from the fans. Personally, as this is a Bayo game I don't really care for the story as long as it sets up a cool premise for the gameplay. In the case of the Multiverse story, I liked that it gave you an excuse to fight in vastly different areas and meet cool unique alternate versions of Bayonetta. Even all the stuff in the ending, I did not really mind.

I hope the future of this franchise does not take the "Viloa is now the main character" route as that would simply kill any hype and uniqueness the character of Bayonetta brought to action games. But with all the feedback Bayo 3 did recieve, one could simply hope Platinum will listen and bring back what people really like about this franchise.

I loved Bayonetta 1 and 2 but this was a big disappointment, I forced myself to beat it but wasn't enjoying at all. The story is good and I like the new character (Viola) and the voice acting, but the Switch can't hande the scale of the battles, the performance is bad and the real enemy is always the camera, I think this game is dispensable, maybe I'll replay it if it's released in more powerful hardware in the future.

This was, a disappointing game to say the least.. I really loved Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 2 is one of my favorite games, this game takes everything I loved about those games and makes it worse?

It has some qualities actually, but none of them involve the combat... I loved what they went for with the level design and how huge it is, allowing for more exploration opportunities, Viola is a very likeable character and a solid addition to the main cast. But the combat was mediocre at best for me. On paper the new weapon formula is, for the most part, a "solid change" even though i still prefer the Bayonetta 2 formula, yet I wasn't a huge fan of most of the weapons in this game, a lot of them are slow/big weapons that become boring after a chapter or two and it took me a while to find a weapon to get accustomed to. Add to that the fact that the game is FILLED with giant enemies (and bosses too), and it's all because of the new addition of the Demon summons mechanic, which the more I played the more i felt the combat relies way too much on using the summons..

The story was mostly a mess, even though I don't play action games for the story but it doesn't help that this game's combat is already abysmal and how good the story was in 2, yes it did have some hype moments here and there, but I never really found myself invested..

Not saying that this game is utterly bad, but for every good thing this game does, there are 2 bad game designs that ruined the overall experience for the most part.

I have mixed feelings about this game.
gameplay & characters: 3.5/10
The biggest thing that I did not like was the story (multiverse) and the character Viola. I don't like the idea of multiverses, and it just feels lazy". Viola also did not feel too "fit in" to the game and felt forcedly added.

gameplay: 5/10
the combat was not bad but I do not think it flows as smoothly as in Bayonetta 2.

Great combat and music, story could've been more fleshed out but the biggest flaw this game have is the level design, sometimes it really feels incomplete or abandoned maybe it's a remnant of the game initial open world design (?) but it ended up muddling the game still a great bayonetta game though

My Game of the Year for 2022, no shade to Elden Ring but this game was everything I wanted it to be. Combat so smooth it felt like it lubed silicone, a multiverse story that wasn't stupid as all get out, and some masterful set pieces this was an excellent game in almost every regard. The sequel baiting where they're pulling a Devil May Cry where the 4th game is a new younger punk protagonist is lame but if you dont finish the credits you wont have to deal with it.

probably the worst bayonetta game so far, literally didnt have fun playing it a single time and wasnt worth the constant delays and wait
