This could've been amazing but instead we got a pretty boring game

Take your mind back to an easier time. 2014 feels like just yesterday, but was 10 whole years ago. I can still remember the day that i downloaded this games beta. That day will live on forever in many of our hearts as the worst days of our lives. The day that addiction set root into our bodies, and took over our minds. This game was like an abusive relationship, and we all had Stockholm syndrome. Many long nights trying to complete the Vault of Glass, all to never get a 30 light helmet to drop. The whole first year of this game with no gjallarhorn or fatebringer drops. Except for 14 whole days before the release of Taken King, and they then would become obsolete. Many long days of trials runs to only face people using keyboard and mouse, or the inevitable lag switch. And one long year later, the Iron Lords opened their doors to us, and ushered in an era of warmth, and joy for the community. However, something on the horizon was brewing. Something to bring all manor of mortal men to their knees. Soon, Destiny 2 would arrive

Objectively this is not a 5/5, but never will there be another game I am as compassionate about, nor nostalgic for, than Destiny. This was my first MMORPG and there was so much to love, especially after The Taken King launch. The sci-fi setting and lore, the blend of PvE and PvP progression, and the shooting and movement mechanics that are still more impressive than most games that launch today, just to name a few. I played this game in high school nonstop from start to finish and made great friends that I still hang out with today. I'll always look back on the days I spent grinding raids or Trials of Osiris with my friends as one of the most peaceful, stress-free periods of my life.

At first I thought it would be a banger but MEH, not worth it.

Played at a friend's house briefly.

mais um jogo ruim que eu gosto

I certainly played this to the end of the story mode

Con las expansiones mejoró muchisimo, pero no quita el hecho de que es una verguenza como juego

I have played this game since release. For a majority of my childhood I would always come back to this game. Its the only RPG that I fully got invested in and I just want to record my love for this game.

When the sequel came out i tried to love it as much as this game but couldnt. I played as far as shadowkeep but felt like i was being abused for playing it. This game in comparison is like a warm bed you can relax in. Especially with the servers only having vets or noobs its special to play now in 2024.

If you think you might like it and like Destiny 2 do it. You will understand why people look back on this with nostalgia. It was a better time for games.

Tedious shooter/mmo hybrid remarkable only for how many people convinced themselves it was good because Bungie made it.

so many sacrificed everything to make this game. beginning with an investment bargain by an intrusive foreign company analogous to a deal with the devil; it killed the studios merit and soul. its paraded corpse excreted drudgery post release, but i lapped it up like a leashed dog. the bones of the game maintained a false visage of a consummate whole. but the insulting charade rightfully abated upon the release of the sequel, a crude imitation of its former, developed by illiterate gauls in the ruins of rome.
a studio with a decade of impeccable output, tuned into an engine powered by divine creation, brought this game into being, but died to release it. publisher interference.
scenarios like these are enough to radicalize people.

I could barely tell you a thing about the story and the lore of this game. I know that there are bad aliens doing bad things and we have to shoot them. So, where the game didn't grip me from a story perspective, it made up for it with some interesting gameplay elements combining the first-person shooter with the MMORPG. Most of what I enjoyed consisted of the game's multiplayer modes. Some of it you can do solo, but my favorite activities were the competitive matches and the raids, so it helps to have a good group of friends to play with! After a while, it kind of devolves into standard looter shooter territory, but that's essentially the nature of the game once you run out of content.

Sorry nostalgia haters, played through it this month for the first time since D2 launch and it's still an absolute 10/10.

Destiny can be a frustratingly addictive mess. The gunplay is some of the best out there, and the raids with your buddies are intense and super satisfying. But the story is all over the place and hard to follow, and the constant grind for better gear can feel endless. If you love looter shooters and have a dedicated crew to play with, you'll probably get hooked. Solo players might struggle, and the lore nerds will be disappointed.

Não lembro muito, mas me marcou muito quando criança

gastei muitas horas atrás da "abismo da morte", me diverti muito com esse game, só acho paia não terem lançado a rise of iron para ps3, somente ps4...

Home of some of my best and worst gaming memories. I hate and love it simultaneously, and I cannot deny its influence on my youth.

I'm looking at this through rose-colored glasses and know this game had a load of problems (cause I was there), but I met some good people through the game and had great times screaming at them at 4 in the morning trying to get a first clear on a raid

Casi 5mil horas a este juego, lo mejor de esa generación

if it was on pc it would be 5 star tbh

i dont have time to explain why i dont have time to explain my 3 star rating

Destiny 1 had the best mix of single player and multiplayer that will ever come out of a game. Shame how Destiny 2 (right now at least, not so much at launch) is so much worse than the first.
