im kind of a sucker for games with odd concepts, and while strange telephone doesn't really work all that well as a typical game, as a dream exploration game it absolutely scratches the same itch that yume nikki and lsd dream emulator do for me. i just like wandering around here and seeing all the weird stuff going on, its NEAT
Man I wanted to like this game a lot but it just wasn't hitting the spot. The music is great, UI and visuals look excellent, but the mechanics are incredibly annoying. The time limit and constant rummaging through the same areas left me feeling bored pretty quickly, and you're dealing with a lot of the same areas. Yume Nikki repeated a lot of stuff, yes, but you could also move through these areas way faster and were given the time to interact with things and investigate. This game was sitting in my library for a while so I don't feel too disappointed but it definitely looked way more interesting than it actually was.
I appreciate the art direction, and the inspiration from Yume Nikki
aesthetics are very cute and well drawn, but sadly this is not a very well designed game
cool game. the yume nikki inspo is so clear and the puzzles are never TOO obtuse to figure out. short and sweet with a compelling concept.
