It's pretty much the same game as Disgaea PC, but with higher quality sprites. If you never played D1 then you should just get this version.

As an upgrade it's disappointing, it doesn't have any QoL features the PC version didn't have or the cheats from DD2. And even as a graphic upgrade it's a bit disappointing as a fan of the original because instead of remaking the sprites for the generics that had a different design in D1 they just recycled the HD versions of their redesigns.
I don't mind TOO much in some cases like the Thief and Male Cleric since i really like their redesigns a lot more, but it sucks for classes like the Skull Mages who looked a lot cooler in D1.

In a better timeline the original designs would have gotten an update and we would be able to pick wich design we wanted to use.

Probably one of the most fun and innovative SRPGs I've ever played in terms of actual gameplay, but this is overshadowed by the unintuitive and cumbersome way that everything else is presented. I'm also gonna take off a couple stars for the weird loli shit in this game.

My first Disgaea game, and the first game I completed alongside my girlfriend (shoutout Abby fr), and I loved it. The characters are a ton of fun to watch interact, and the way that they develop over the course of the story is cool. I love the combat: I'm a big turn-based tactics fan, and the way all the different mechanics layer is so cool. Special moves are dope, the throwing mechanic is as hilarious as it is helpful, the way that characters grow alongside each other is way more in-depth than I imagined, and that last sentiment is something I noticed for a ton of the game. Even tho I clocked in like 30-or-so hours before I beat it, there's still a TON of content there. I guess DIsgaea games are known for the post-game, and I can't wait to get in there after a short break. Definitely a huge recommend from me!

2nd time finished it, don't know if its easier or not XD

I own two copies of this game because I'm stupid.

This was a ton of fun, it's not the most game changing remake in terms of new features, because I'm pretty sure there's almost none, but, as someone that played and didn't really enjoy the older PC version, there's a lot of QoL changes that really transform the game from painful to addicting, I think the game looks prettier, it plays better, and is overall a great experience! I'd highly recommend playing this over the other versions.
