It's just really fun and comfy. It scratches that 2D platformer itch for me and is a different experience every time I launch it

The Mario Maker experience... great choice of editing but bad multiplayer experience.

I haven't created a single level in this game. However, the online VS mode has been a source of endless entertainment

Objectively The Best Game I've Ever Played

It's like Mario Maker, but with more Mario and more Making.

they somehow made an amazing game even better

Awesome game where you can play games made by little kids

There's something sad about Super Mario Maker 2. The fact that U Deluxe sold twice as many copies, the fact that the game is basically dead just a few years later; the fact that even though you can collect levels into "worlds" to be played like a fan-made Mario "game", you can't download them or play them offline. The original Mario Maker was in some ways more exciting, but was obviously hampered by being a relatively late release on a console that nobody bought. There are some good additions here, but enough is discarded from the previous game that it still feels like it has less heart. As a platform for creative game design and sharing, it's not anywhere near as feature-rich and user-friendly as I would like. In a way, it almost feels more like a tactic to divert attention away from the rom-hack and fan-game communities that have always been around. I've had a lot of fun with it, but even though it's still here, it feels like the moment has passed.

I went through a phase of playing nothing but this game, and now I haven't touched it for maybe 2 years. I like the idea of being given the ability to make your own Mario levels, however many levels were just boring.

Why did they have to stop updating it so soon 😭😭😭😭

This game is good and all but the lack of amiibo costumes just kinda kills my interest in it. Being able to play as Totem Link in MM1 was the coolest thing ever. There is now a Totem Link-sized hole in my heart.

Literally all you could want from a mario game. Infinite lvls that are unique and you can challenge others. Only bad thing is how ass the multiplayer is

Something about this game didn't live up to the original for me. I think what I miss most from the original was the costume power-ups, it was very fun being able to tap amiibos and unlock different characters you could play as in the Mario world.

Really fun but I feel like the level of quality really depends on what you are doing in this game since anyone can make levels so you do have to look for the good levels but when you find them they are amazing. The main games "story" mode was alright as an introduction to the game but not really as good as something like a actual Mario game.

I guess its better because it has more features?

While it had more features than the original, this game lacked the real reason we all loved Super Mario Maker on the Wii U: CHARM. Well, that and support from the devs. It's still a good time, but I would rather dust off my Wii U than insert this cartridge.

tbh i thought i would be more creative than i was with this game but i like the premise. personally i'm giving it a 2/5 because i just never vibed with it but if you think this might be your thing then please go for it, this game has so many tools to express your creativity

story was fun, game is still fun, creating levels is less satisfiying. funny that one of the best gamepad utilizations is basically just as a ds bottom screen touchscreen

I think I made some decent levels on here. Loved both playing and making levels

Easily one of my favourite Mario games of all time

This game was overrated. I did not like how u made the levels. in my opinion, mario maker does not work on switch sadly

i had a lot more fun with this game than i thought i would
