I had never played original gen3 so I enjoyed these games quite a bit. The Latios/Latias flying mechanic was awesome bro. In terms of base gameplay it's really just another pokemon game, but the postgame was really fun once I eventually got into it. Shoutout to my aunt for teaching me how to find the legenaries and how postgame worked.
It's definitely a respectful remake.
I was impressed with the graphical quality of this game (it's worth mentioning that I played via citra at 8x resolution) but the entire level design definitely received the time and dedication it deserved.
Other than that, it's the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire that we know with few changes, I recommend it for fans of the series.

I haven't actually replayed Pokémon Omega Ruby but I did beat the League for a third time and I thought it would be a good excuse to talk about this game.
Btw, I am very biased with this game, as it was the first time I got a Shiny and one of the best experiences I ever had in videogames, but I will try to be objective with some of my points.
The sixth generation is one of the most infamous gens of all pokémon, due to the big changes it did, not only to the graphics, but to Pokémon as a whole.
Due to this, ORAS takes a lot of hits that I don't think it quite deserves. Not only that, but I think that it was a pretty good remake as a whole.
Something to remember about third gen is that, while revolutionary, a lot of the problems that already existed from Gen 1/2 weren't quite fixed, like the fact that the types didn't have a physical/special division yet, crippling a few pokémons.
ORAS is interesting because, while I do thing it has its issues, like giving you a free legendary or taking out the Battle Frontier for some reason; it also gives Hoenn the changes that have become the norm, like the before mentioned physical/special separation, the fairy type, the national Pokedex, and the 3D movement.
Plus the fact that the final battle of the story is against Deoxys, in orbit while riding Rayquaza, or the fact we can fly through the whole region in Lati@s, or the fact that we can catch up to 30 legendaries in the two games; is just makes it a wondeful experience to me.
As a whole, I think ORAS gives a experience that can stand alongside Emerald, but also creating its own identity. Is it perfect? No, but I don't think it has to be, and I'm ok with that.

A classic Pokémon adventure! The pokemon animations are nice, the graphics are bright and the music is out of this world (haha pun... bc deoxys...) I do quite enjoy the dexnav and it's really fun to sit there and hunt for a really good Pokémon to add to your team.
Also the first game to introduce mega evolution and I LOVE the designs for all of them so 10/10

great!!ish!! definitely largely because, as far as I'm concerned, hoenn is the be all and end all of pokemon. simply adore just about every single aspect of this place and just about every one of the creatures inside of it, too much water be damned. it's really nice to see such great designs in a 3D space, and the locations themselves have a good sense of atmosphere. I think this place works simply because of how... worldly it is. diverse biomes that just WORK. we also get some good updated mechanics and systems that the nerds can tell you more about... but definitely a supplementary experience. character models are a little weird and there's just simply nothing that matches the original gen 3 experience. really liked it though and was happy to experience the world again in a new way.
shout out to RANDLE (sceptile), GULLIVER (pelliper), DEZZY (manectric), BALDUR (groudon), RABBIT (linoone) and BARRACOWDA (camerupt) for being my final team, loved you all

The perfect remake of already good games. This game takes every obnoxious or insufferable thing Ruby and Sapphire had, brushed them away, and then improved on it immensely. Hoenn has never been a better place to play in!
A non-comprehensive list of amazing additions this game has compared to the originals:
- A touch screen. And what a touch screen! From the quick-access menu, to the impossibly good DexNav, to the XY section, to a fun news report, to the most comprehensive map this series has ever seen... The absolute perfect bottom screen.
- Post-Generation 3 changes are added! No FRLG evolution blocking, or HGSS-style dex cutting. Every single Pokémon that got an evolution or preevolution after Gen 3 has said evolutionary line added to the regional dex! Gallade, Probopass, Magnezone, Budew, Roserade, Chingling, Dusknoir, Rhyperior, Froslass, and even a new form in Cosplay Pikachu! Fairy type is also present, with representatives such as Mawile, Jigglypuff, Marill or Ralts!
- New Mega-Evolutions! Most of them are available right before the eighth gym, but some of them are obtainable before that!
- New Groudon and Kyogre forms!! And they're so cool!!
- The entire Delta Episode as an amazing homage to Pokémon Emerald with a surprise appearance at the end!
- Improved already present mechanics like contests or Secret Bases to the point of perfection.
- Possibly the best Fly in the series, allowing you to fly to ANY ROUTE or place you want.
- Lati@s Flight. Need I say more?
- The presence of so many species of Pokémon you can complete the entire National Pokédex just with the generation 6 games alone.
People complain about the lack of Battle Front but let's be so for real. Who played the Battle Front consistently? In my humble opinion, this game is so good people just needed to find a nitpick for it so they could complain because Arceus forbid a good Pokémon game is released.
All in all, possibly the single best Pokémon experience one could have and the gold standard for all Pokémon games before and after it, remakes included. If you have the chance, you need to play it!
