Other than the very confusing exclusion of the battle frontier from emerald, and the overall low difficulty, i will say, this is one of my favorite pokemon games. In general, the game i've sunk the most hours into. I'm still not fully over losing my copy on a trip a few years back, that is one of the most unfortunate things to have happened to me.
I love hoenn, i love hoenn pokemon, i love the characters, i love this game. Also, because it's gen 6, it is the peak of pokemon online connectivity. The PSS has yet to be topped in terms of accesibility and usefulness.
The delta episode is fine, a compromise for not remaking emerald instead, but then why not just add the battle frontier???

Includes some of the better aspects of Gen 6 with fewer flaws. It is still far, far too easy, but new megas are appreciated. The story of gen 3 has always been a bit silly and boring for me, but the delta episode has absolutely no right to be as amazing as it is. The locations are all lovingly redesigned in 3ds. Please bring back Latio's flying (I guess they kind of did in gen 8).
Really fun remake. One of my personal favorite Pokémon games, honestly ny only complaints with the game is the lack of difficulty and no battle Frontier. I really enjoy traveling around Hoenn and Soar was a fun feature I want to return. The DexNav was also a really useful tool that I also wish would return.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are remakes of the 2002 Generation 3 Pokemon games. ORAS effectively follows the same story as the originals, with some minor beats changed to suit new mechanics like Primal Reversion and XY’s mechanic of Mega Evolution. New mega evolution forms were added, and many are now staple additions that breathed life into deserving Pokemon like Mawile and Sableye. These games are also likely the deepest for shiny hunting in the series, with streamlined methods like Dex-Nav, Chain Fishing, and Horde Encountering making things less tedious than ever. Overall, ORAS are solid reimaginings of Hoenn and one of the higher points in the franchise.
When I got into Pokemon as a kid, Ruby and Sapphire were the newest games to come out, and I'd always wanted to play them. Unfortunately, my parents weren't really good at telling which games were which and neither was I. We got the wrong game twice, and I never had the heart to tell them that as a kid. I didn't want to appear ungrateful, or make them feel like they'd let me down- I still loved the games they got me! And so I stayed quiet for a long time and lost my chance to pick them up before they got exorbitantly expensive.
This remake is a childhood dream come true for me. It's almost everything I imagined the originals would be as a kid. I'm sure it has it's problems. I'm sure it has flaws. But, god damn it, I'm just so happy to be able to finally play the game and have it be THIS good. There's a lot of cool setpieces in this game. The pokemon are probably my favorite generation of them ever. The environments look really good. The music is full of banger after banger. Yes this review is biased as hell, but I really think this is a solid game to pick up if the Pokemon formula is interesting to you.

The original Pokémon ruby is definitely better than Omega Ruby, but it still doesn’t change the fact that it is one of the greatest Pokémon games ever. Great story and some of the best Pokémon in the entire series. The music is really good, especially remastered on the 3DS. I also loved using Omega Groudon, which was overpowering for the time. Also, the best part about this version is the fact that you can get Latias and Latios and fly around the entire map. It is really beautiful and a great use of the 3DS technology. I only played through the whole thing once, but it was still very enjoyable for me. I also did a bunch of the events and got all the special Pokémon, and I also love the fact you can get Deoxys without needing an event.
This was my second game in this region as I played the original ruby. When I played it I couldn't stop and I beat the entire game. It's Pokémon so there aren't many additions but having the mega evolutions from X and Y was a nice addition. Probably one of the only Pokémon games I won't mind replaying that much.
