Basically this game is not developed by the same team as the first Dark Souls so there's a lot of slightly altered weight that the first game carried on and turns it into a somewhat ridiculously unsustainable balance shitfest.

Like the first game, i had to play this game with a minimum amount of coaching from someone who played the same game, and despite it, it was a mess. Enemies respawn for 12 more times before disappearing completely, leaving you only a huge maximum amount of grinding for souls, so if you ever happen to literally kill and rekill every enemy 12 times, you probably might have spent all your souls to become a overleveled ass or maybe spent too much on crafting material. I don't know, but this is NOT what it matters.

The game is known for a bunch of pretty unbalanced areas, more annoying than the latter. Notable picks are Iron Keep, known for their ridiculously moving Alonne Knights, Shrine of Amana, and the Memory of the Old Iron King which for me qualifies as the ABSOLUTE WORST area of Dark Souls i've ever seen in the entire franchise (not sure for the whole of FromSoftware game history as i had never played Demon's Souls or King's Field series). If you're actually interested playing in for the lore, well, there's certain details that connect from the first souls, but to me it quite goes over the fact that it's quite like a different world.

I had my guts really go insane while going through mid way of this game, i really just can't, but in the end i eventually managed to finish playing the game the moment i killed the Ivory King DLC boss, which was indeed one of those final "gutter punches to the stomach" of the game.

I am seriously not considering a New Game+ for this one. And don't bother me to do it. I don't care. But for the star rating i'll be honest. It's just a 3 because the game is enjoyable enough if you're in for the pain, but i'd rather let you skip to Dark Souls 3 if you don't care a lot about the story and just see what happens after DS1.

Unsustainable game for me, by the way.
