First Kirby game I've played. Wasn't interested in the series for a while as I was always hearing how it is generally very easy. Nothing wrong with that inherently, but I prefer games to be at least a little challenging. Finally decided to give it a shot after hearing a lot of positive reception, and it was a lot more fun then I thought it would be. "Pleasant" is how I would describe Forgotten Lands in one word for like 80% of the game. That said I was worried throughout the first several worlds as I was absolutely breezing by everything with minimal effort, but the optional content and the post game do have a lot more of the challenge that I was hoping for. The "witch time" dodge mechanic (that I don't remember if the game ever tells you) was always satisfying; combined with the varied copy abilities and this game feels very nice to play. It has very good pacing as well, never once felt exhausted or feeling like "I want to move on already". And saying this game is cute goes without saying... but yeah it's adorable alright.
If there was something akin to a hard mode (wild mode doesn't do enough for me personally) then I'd enjoy the first half of the game a lot more, but the endgame was definitely worth it. High recommendation, play it before spoilers become common place.
