Not rating this one. I think it made me realized that these kind of beat 'em ups aren't for me. That isn't to say I disliked it, no I actually liked this a lot and I really appreciate the amount of content and challenges available. But fundamentally I just can't jive with the game feel.

Most characters feel so slow and heavy by default, generally moving worse than actual humans. There are certainly methods of speeding through it more, I have watched some skill videos to get an idea of how to play it at a high level. But I honestly would prefer a way more fast and fluent feeling movement from the beginning. Spent most of my time with Shiva since he was the fastest character with his dash and had some nice air combos, but I wished every character had something like that. This also might be seem like a huge nitpick, but I don't like walking into enemies to grab them. It just doesn't sit right with me and would vastly prefer a grab command. I've had many instances of fumbling a throw because I wasn't expecting to grab an enemy that was next to me and I made myself vulnerable. Even with Shiva I never felt completely comfortable playing the game, it just felt awkward the whole way through.

I see people calling this one of the best in the genre, and again I did like it and may play it again. That alone should say enough about the quality of this game, despite my ambivalence to a lot of its fundamentals.
