I can see why this game is controversial. But I don't give a single fuck because I found it extremely entertaining and fun in every way. Amazing co-op game. The gameplay is just fun as fuck, the game really goes hard on trying to make the characters feel like action heroes, but it also has a good amount of variety such as slower paced puzzle solving sections and what not. Despite how long the game is compared to every other RE that came before it (20 hours on my first co-op run, while every other RE took me 6-10 hours tops), it manages to stay fun.
I do have some gripes tho. The game sometimes take away control of the camera in annoying ways, including when it suddenly forces you to run towards the camera. There's also other bits that just felt a bit janky and clunky, such as the unclear death animations of certain enemies (which made me waste ammo at times). I also felt a bit of a lack of closure after doing Ada's campaign. Lastly, the graphics are a mixed bag: it either looks amazing with great lightning and character models, or you're looking at PS1-tier textures, but I suppose that was a sacrifice to the game's pace and smoothness.
Leon and Jake campaigns are the best ones easily, but I dunno which of the two I prefer. Leon = Jake > Ada > Chris to me.
Edit: Jake > Chris > Leon >>> Ada but Leon is still the funniest by far.
My original dislike for Chris' campaign was just because I was lacking ammo all the damn campaign due to my partner forcing us to stay during an early optional fight.
