Been a while since I played this, but its an interesting enough experiment of a game to talk about. Neptunia RPG is basically a jankier Indivisible, which is in turn a jankier Valkyrie Profile. Neither of these have the depth of the latter, but Indivisible at least holds up as a high profile indie game. Neptunia RPG essentially paid environment artists to make some gorgeous backdrops, and the rest of the money was spent throwing together the cheapest excuse for a JRPG I've seen. Imagine if your typical Idea Factory copy paste RPG was built from the ground up as a new genre, with the same budget as a hacked out sequel. Thats what this is. A third party newcomer studio made up of artists and not much else made this super cheap. The backdrops are good, but thats it. Animations feel horrible and objects are just slapped onto the backgrounds. The combat is just button mashing tedium. Side quests shouldnt even be here, since the main story is less memorable than most JRPG fetch quests.

Super Neptunia RPG is like a puppy who pissed on the rug, and just looks at you endearingly to clean it up. And you will because anyone playing this is a sucker for Neptune.
