Genuinely such a charming rhythm game. There's still more that has yet to be released, but where the game is at now, it is still 100% worth buying. Definitely a game I want to go back and 100% complete.

Persona 3 Reload has quickly become one of my favorite games of all time, surpassing Persona 5 Royal. So many great aspects of Persona 3 Reload are phenomenal and improve massively upon Persona 3 FES. That doesn’t mean there aren’t flaws though; I have many gripes and nitpicks about Persona 3 Reload as a whole. So let's dive into them.

Persona 3 Reload’s story made me emotional in ways that I haven’t experienced since I’ve played Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The major moments of Persona 3 Reload hit hard, and even the smaller moments between characters in cutscenes are incredible as well. The way I look at games is how many times it made me cry, and Persona 3 has surpassed everything else. The character interactions and development are incredible, and I think surpass Persona 5 immensely. My favorite character arc is surprisingly Junpei’s, and I think his voice actor plays a massive role in why I love Junpei so much. The emotion Zeno Robinson puts into his performance is unmatched. This isn’t to discredit any other voice actor in this game. Characters like Yukari, Shinjiro, and even the smaller social links like Yuko and Akinari make the characters feel real. Compared to Persona 5, the social links are massively improved. The addition of full voice acting to each social link rank expands upon the characters and makes them seem real. My favorite social link arc is Odagiri’s, who has a massive change in perspective and attitude throughout his ranks. This is exemplified through his voice actor, which makes Odagiri feel more genuine. The soundtrack is also phenomenal. Except for a couple of tracks (cough Burn My Dread cough), the soundtrack is an improvement over Persona 3 FES.

My only gripes are when it comes to Tartarus and story progression. Although you awaken your persona very quickly, there’s not much to work toward afterward. This is an issue with not having separate dungeon systems like in Persona 4 or Persona 5, feeling lost, and not knowing what to do (an issue my friend had before the first full moon mission). It was not until the second full moon that I felt fully motivated to play the game and use Tartarus to its full potential.

Persona 3 Reload is a phenomenal game, and if you’re a fan of the Persona series or even RPG games, Persona 3 Reload is a must-play. The characters, soundtrack, story, theme, pretty much everything is amazing. Thank you.
