I guess I can see why people didn’t like this as much as the first two. Must have been a fun four-player co-op game in its day, though.

Really tried to pull the heartstrings by bringing back “Mad World,” though they dropped that way too early. That short Thrashball fantasy with Cole was pretty funny; wouldn’t mind if Gears did some more weird shit like that, especially to give a little pre-E-Day glimpse.

Next Level Games is so heckin good at animation and characterization. Nintendo’s lucky to have them.

On the other hand, the mission structure of the game absolutely blows. It’s the most tedious game with the Nintendo branding on it. Almost never did I feel any momentum playing it. No wonder it took me literally a decade to finish this game.

Undeniably cute and charming!

It was fun seeing the origins of Mario RPG mechanics, but it’s hard going back to the simplicity of an older game after everything that came after.

The original characters were real fun, but ultimately I didn’t get the Geno hype; honestly, Mallow had more of an arc than him.

Navigating the overworld felt super wonky and kinda sucked sometimes! Soundtrack slapped, though, and the new cutscenes were lovely.

Would love to see a proper sequel with these assets that modernize and expand on the original a bit.
