It's more of the same, almost like a standalone expansion for Borderlands 2.
The new characters are generally very strong and the difficulty feels a bit more balanced for higher levels. I also liked how the story fleshes out secondary characters from prior installments.
That being said, by this point I'm just sick of the writing, especially the humor. There's a limit to how many times one can rely on screaming and homosexuality to carry a joke.
Generally I would say that good mechanics can carry any game, but this one managed to change my mind. I don't care about Borderlands anymore after this entry.
