I think the game's concept is very creative and the gameplay is polished and easy to pick up, but the "different" factions lack personality and all of them share the same units. There's no story to speak of either. As a result, I personally find it hard to get attached to this game.
Overall I'd still recommend Planetary Annihilation if you can get it for cheap because of the novelty value.
