A story so good that it is a masterpiece despite shitty models and a spotty translation. A stupidly complex plot that slowly unravels the psychology of its characters and the true reality behind the nature of the world. Putting intimacy and focus on our connection with nature and how to progress forward properly in order to better serve humanity and the world itself.
(Replay) A legendary classic in every sense. While clunky and flawed I'm some ways (filler quests, annoying side quest design, terrible models), it nevertheless peaks as high if not higher than every story focused video game. The plot is the main star here, it is masterfully crafted, with the Nibelheim incident being the best showcase of that. The Materia system has tons of depth in terms of builds possible, great encounter design (especially after mid-game) godly OST, great cast and it is just wicked cool to experience. A new favorite.
