Top 20 Atari 2600 Games

Was requested to list my recommendation of good Atari 2600 games. Here are the ones I love. Remember to find a pdf of the manual online; will make understanding the gameplay A LOT easier and more fun (ET isn't a bad game; you just probably didn't have the manual on you). A lot of "classics" on the system are not on here as I feel they are so much better on arcade, that it isn't even worth checking them out on Atari (looking at you Asteroids, Donkey Kong, and Pac-Man!!!)

The start of my Top 20 lists series. Lists for different home game consoles will slowly pop up when I feel like I experienced a proper amount of their library.

Rankings based on my own opinions.

10/21/2023 - Minor update. Rearranged placements and switched out Raiders of the Lost Ark for Surround. Enduro and Pole Position added too, of course. Barnstorming and another I can't remember removed... (goes to show how much I liked it lmao).

Are there any RPGs for the system you would rec?

@c_f I think the closest thing I can imagine to what we see with RPGs now would be Dragonstomper, which I unfortunately have yet to play ;_; Adventure counts as an RPG in the way that like... Legend of Zelda does, but for a proper turn-based RPG experience, I think the only game that fits is Dragonstomper!

Oh yeah I've played adventure, epic BEASTer egg!
I think I tried Dragonstomper for like 5 minutes when I was hacking my vita, may try it again in the near future

MotherFUCKIN' Keystone Kapers, Solaris, Berzerk, Adventure, Haunted House, Montezuma's Diarrhea-sweep.

ngl, kinda wanna go on another 2600 binge in Stella now, lol. Still wish I'd have room for a real console.
