A good start to the franchise but just not there yet. The story itself is quite boring to be honest, it's mostly carried by delta squad.
The art direction while often criticized is actually incredibly strong, it truly creates a hopeless hollow world and you can really feel how humanity is on it's last legs.
I feel Gears 1 has really suffered from it's success , lots of clones of it popped out in the 7th generation and it kickstarted the grey and brown art style trend for half of the generation and it just takes away from it when you come back to it.

This is how you end a trilogy. The art direction is superb in this entry , the gameplay comes first in this one as well and offers so much content with a revamped horde mode , our familiar multiplayer modes and probably the most fun to play campaign with a much more arcade-y feel to it compared to the others. Its the full package, you won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed my ride with Metal Gear Solid but it didn't leave a big impression on me but 2 was a complete game changer for me. It perfected the gameplay of its predecessors , has tons of little details , a wonderful art direction with memorable set pieces and a story is full of twists and interesting questions which just like the gameplay , builds upon the foundation of the previous entries to build something truly special.
