Finished the Pixel Remaster on PS5 tonight.

This game is pretty good! Playing it today it very much feels like just the appetizer for Final Fantasy V, but it's solid. You can trace back games that Square is putting out today, like the Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler games, right back to this one. I imagine when it was first released thirty years ago that it was something of a wonder. Today it's still pretty fun!

I first tried to play this game in around 2006, when the DS remake was released. A friend and I would send each other the little Mognet mail to unlock the Onion Guard class. But that version was too difficult (I can't remember if I made it pass Garuda or not) and I couldn't finish it at the time. I tried again a couple years ago, but the computer I was playing it on just couldn't handle it (and not being able to handle a Pixel Remaster is saying something!). Feels great to final check this one off my list!

PlayStation 5 version as part of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers collection.
