Honestly, this was a surprising find on the 3DS. As a longtime fan of the mainline series on regular consoles; I was expecting this to be "less than" but it was similar to the main ones but in a compact form.

What is useful is the dual screen usage. During a fight, the character moveset is displayed on the bottom that the player can either perform normally with the D-pad/ buttons or press it with their stylus ( a welcome way in for beginners to learn the mechanics). Everyone flows really well battling that I was impressed on the 3ds!

- The story is ok. Nothing to really fawn over and thier are other modes such as time attack, sparring, versus, etc.

- There are as couple new stages mixed in with the old stages from the mainline games.

Super fun game for on the go battles!

Much like the other reviews, this game is "average" with the selling point of this game being the combat. This game allows you to have two weapons and change it up in combat in the mist of battle.

The story doesn't really have any complexity to want more. Actually the side characters personalities/stories are stuffed under memories in the menu once you complete their corresponding missions.

The side characters (can be generic to some) had some great backstories but never shown in the story because it was shut down by the main character. Which is a little sad.

overall good game on SALE and if you like brawlers and a shorter JRPG (20 hours was my complete time with side mission)

E.X. Trooper is a 2012 3DS game by Capcom. The art has a stylish, poppy, and bright manga style which is eye catching and fun! The coolest part is most characters (main and secondary) are voiced in Japanese.

-The combat style is a real time FPS against alien-like creatures with the choice of numerous weapon types the further along you get into the game and can level up (get stronger, more ammo, etc.)

-The combat does get a tad repetitive but owe it to getting good. Also there is multiplayer and online options to play with friends and strangers but the 3ds online options will close April 8, 2024 for the 3ds.

-Story is nothing to write home about but its solid for its time period. Music is has a fun electronic feel that some songs i've had on repeat!

I am really enjoying how fun this game is and hope to experience more games like this in the future!
