Pokemon Black. Pokemon Black...... Might as well start with what I enjoy about this game right?

I think Patrat and Pansear are honestly really cool pokemon, might be a hot take around these parts but I really like those little dudes. Also the presentation is crazy good, though the animations are overrated I feel

Okay positivity is OVER. I think the story is by far the most overrated thing I've seen in a while. I find this story to be really boring and I think it only gets gassed up because mainline pokemon wise this is almost one of the best ones, but compared to games like the Mystery Dungeon series it pales in comparison. N is honestly really boring.

When it comes to teambuilding this is the game of all time. You are limited to the Unovan dex which wouldn't be the worse until you realize all the pokemon blow until like mid to late 40s when they finally evolve, there's too many pokemon in this game with horrendous stats until they evolve at a super late level, Final gym leader is level 43 for reference so at the very least the devs intended you to be suffering with shit like litwick and klinklang for at least a good portion of the game unless you over level. Which at least to me makes a lot of these pokemon super unfun to use.

Anyways yeah I don't like this game lol, Also out of every game not to include following pokemon why did they pick the one game where the entire story is based around how pokemon are your friends and genuinely enjoy human company? They even have sprites for most of the pokemon, was it that hard to make sprite art for the new pokemon?

Cybershell really invented a man and here we are

Ain't it fucked up how Raiden was introduced in this game but not actually?

I don't care how old you are, if you see Vergil in this game you are either screaming in terror or fanboying over him.

This review contains spoilers

I'm back at it again with poorly recapping Metal Gear Solid plots baby.

So basically you play as this guy with the code name Naked Snake (he's Big Boss but before he became Big Boss) and you gotta go rescue this guy named Sokolov. Sokolov here being one of the biggest ops in gaming decided creating basically a prototype metal gear would be AWESOME. It's called the Shagohod. After rescuing Sokolov, Snake decides to teach Ocelot the basics of cqc by beating his ass so hard Ocelot became big boss sexual. After that brief encounter we run into the Boss (Snake's mentor) who defected to the Soviet Union and brought a few nuclear war heads with her. Then the Boss throws Snake off a bridge and nukes the abandoned factory Snake rescued Sokolov from. I should mention that this game is a prequel set in the 60s before it's too late.

Might as well introduce the cast now.
We got Naked Snake: He's Big Boss yo
The Boss: Defected from the US and is Snake's Mentor
Major Zero: The founder of Fox and the CO for Operation Snake Eater
Sigint: He's a cool dude who's a weapons expert
Para-Medic: She's a movie geek who wants to create a unit of paratrooping medics, she may also have an interest in human cloning (definitely not important later)
Eva: She defected from the US to the Soviet Union allegedly, Definitely not a chinese spy
The Villains:
The Pain: BEEEEES
The End: Sleepy old man
The Fury: SPACE
The Fear: Idk this guy is just fucked up
The Sorrow: Bro is DEAD, Also Ocelot's dad and The Boss' lover

Anyways Snake has to commence Operation Snake Eater after a week due to him having to recover from his bridge falling related injuries that he survived from because he's BIG BOSS BITCH. Snake Eater tasks Snake with rescuing Sokolov and killing the Boss. Anyways for most of the game it's just heartwarming moments between Eva and Snake and the occasional fight against the looney tunes esc cast of villains I listed earlier. Trust me, ladders are climbed and snakes are munched on.

Eventually after Snake infiltrates a Soviet base by pretending to be a Russian Colonel or whatever Sokolov dies and he's found out by Volgin, I forgot to mention him but he's like the big bad of the game. He also has electricity powers. Snake gets tortured and his eye is shot out (tragic). After escaping the base and getting a cool eyepatch and shit, Eva is like "Snake you gotta blow up the shagohod" and Snake's like "Bet"

Snake sneaks back into the base and plants c3 all over the place. After he's done doing that, Volgin shows up and rants about the philospher's legacy iirc. Basically it's a shit ton of money hidden by the Wisemen's committee, which is divided up into 3 sections. A US segment, Russian segment, and Chinese segment. Snake then fights Volgin before the base blows up, Ocelot also tells Volgin to stop being a pussy ass bitch, Snake beats the shit out of Volgin and escapes on an awesome motorcycle chase segment with Volgin chasing in the shagohod. After blowing up the Shagohod and Volgin like 17 times (seriously that man REFUSES to die) Volgin is finally defeated.

After the Volgin fight it's a boring escort mission with Eva who has the munchies and will probably eat every single piece of food you can get your hands on.

Naked Snake now has to complete operation Snake Eater by fighting the Boss in a very awesome and emotional heavy boss fight against her, idk you just have to be there. Ocelot and Snake then have a heart to heart while Snake tries to escape. Ocelot's name is Adamska, and Snake's name is John.

After Eva hits Snake with a one night stand she hits him with a lore dump. The Boss never defected from the US and was instead tasked as a scapegoat which would go down in history not as a dedicated WW2 veteran but as a terrorist, and that Eva was actually a spy for the Chinese wiseman committee and she just stole the philosopher's legacy piece Snake had. Just kidding due to a post credits scene Ocelot reveals he's been working for the CIA the entire time and planted a fake legacy piece on Snake KNOWING Eva would steal it and give it to the Chinese wiseman's committee. Ocelot's just cracked like that.

Naked Snake is finally given the title of Big Boss for perfectly executing his mission of killing the boss, he leaves his ceremony without a word and salutes the Boss' grave as the game comes to a close.

I skipped over a lot in this game, so if you decided to read a summary of the story without playing the game for some reason, Play it , the game is literally cracked and is peak. Also the US wiseman committee later went on to become the Patriots so that's cool. ALSO THERE'S LIKE A FULL ON LIKE 6 MINUTE CLIP OF RAIDEN GETTING HIS SHIT BEATEN OUT OF HIM IN THIS GAME, NOT TO MENTION THE RAIDEN LOOK ALIKE YOU BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF, RAIDEN NEVER DESERVED THIS DISRESPECT WHAT THE HELL.

The game of MGS 2 is like an evolution of MGS 1 in almost every way. You can aim in first person which is absolutely huge for aiming and sneak attacking enemies. They also added a tranquilizer dart which knocks out enemies. This is pretty huge for going for the highest rank in the game, being Big Boss rank.

There's also a few cool techs you can do with the tranq gun and schovement in general, If you hit someone with a tranq gun and it doesn't knock them out you can just cartwheel/punch comboing them to do it faster. You can now hold up enemies by pulling your gun out and pointing at them. If done in 3rd person you can hold them up and quickly ran past them without them immediately signaling for a caution and then an alert.

Now the first part of the game is kinda like a tutorial where you play as Snake, it eases you. Introduces you to the tranquilizer, that you have the option to tranq bosses, and that you can shoot technology with a socom or higher caliber gun to deactivate them (Should note that while I don't think shooting down switches affects your rank, shooting too many cameras will).

The first Raiden part has you deactivating bombs. It's really fun sneaking your way and exploring the Big Shell segments and deactivating the bombs. Once you know your way around the game speedrunning through this part is satisfying as hell. After that there's a boss fight. I don't think I'll talk about the boss fights unless there's a way to cheese them honestly

The next big gameplay part is shell 2. This section is a lot less longer gameplay wise than Shell 1 was. It's a swimming section which isn't honestly all the bad once you learn where to go. Having a map of the section being given to you definitely helps it. After getting an info dump from the President and a boss fight which is really easy. All you have to do is bait the boss Vamp, into doing his knife attack by hanging from a ledge and getting up from it to invincibility frame your way out of the attack. After that you just punch the shit out of him while dodging the same knife attack until he dies.

Anyways now you have to do an escort mission (oh no!!!!) In all honesty it's actually pretty fun. And it's decently short. Escorting Emma Emmerich throughout the shell 2 core and a bit of one of the shell 2 struts is a lot more interesting than the president bit of the shell 2 core. Just don't get careless or dilly dally too long and you'll get through it fine enough. After this it's a sniper section you have to do which isn't too interesting or long and I already covered what happens in it in my Sons of Liberty review.

The last section of the game is pretty awesome. Getting your stuff back is pretty easy due to the fact the guards in Arsenal gear are blind and can't detect the naked man running around doing cartwheels in broad daylight. Once you do you have to do a few sections where you having to take out a shit ton of enemies with your sword. It's raw as hell basically and actual peak fiction. You can also skip these sections. First section is by throwing a shit ton of stun grenades and then leaning up to the door at the end of the section and punch punch kicking into it in first person, if you release first person while Raiden kicks you'll clip through the door and go to the next part. I'm just going to share a link of coolant skip because I have no idea why it works. https://youtu.be/6rc38-y0EUE

After that you have to fight like 20 metal gear rays, honestly pretty easy just stun them by shooting their knees and then shooting their heads when they open it up. You do way more damage to them when the heads open up. Anyhow the final boss is fucking awesome. You have to sword fight with Solidus Snake and it's literally just peak awesome. One of the best final bosses I've fought it's awesome.

For my last section I'll just mention a bunch of things I forgot to mention during the review. Of course cardboard boxes are back and possibly better than ever. If you use them properly you can sneak past guards without them knowing or cheekily get away during an alert by using one next to more cardboard boxes. There's also chaff grenades which knock out cameras and ciphers for a short time this is huge in big boss rank due to you only being about shooting down a limited number of them. On extreme or higher however you can only carry 6 of them and they're not quite common so use them carefully and only when it'll be important. I'd watch the gdc of it to know where you should use them https://youtu.be/vUQ60M_zE9A

Anyways that's all from me. I may have missed some details but either way I love this game. I highly recommend going for big boss rank and looking into how to achieve it if you ever feel like speedrunning this game. Stealth games are always fun speed games, and I hope you enjoy the speedrun as much as I did!

Dude imagined being The End. Like you've trained your entire life to become one of the best snipers in history and then some guy hired to do some wet work shows up, steals your clothes, and then proceeds to smoke so hard you pass out and die from second hand smoke.

I beat this game and got Big Boss rank because I really wanted to, it made me enjoy a game I enjoy a whole lot more. This game is awesome no matter how you cut it. I'll talk about it sometime

I keep coming back to this game, this goofy little game.

Sa1 as we all know is cut up into multiple little segments. Here's where you'll be playing as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Gamma, and Big the cat.

Sonic: Sonic's story is the best one here and the longest. Sonic has 10 different stages and all of them have a plethora of skips to pull off. All thanks to the spindash this game has. The spindash in sa1 is over powered. You can basically spindash jump off of almost any incline and make a skip out of it. The only draw back to zipping around the stages like a monkey on cocaine is that the camera will be constantly holding you back at times. The camera is in this game can be almost as janky as the collision but unlike the collision fucking with it is less fun more than it is annoying. You'll probably face a few time losses due to the camera being fucked and you'll have to stop and fix the best you can. But it doesn't really matter to me, baring Lost World and Casionoplis all of Sonic stages are a joy to play.

Tails: This is where I find the flaws of sa1 to come in. Everyone who isn't Sonic can seem like they have a lackluster story. All of Tails' stages are too short due to Tails ability to fly over them. Not only are his stages lackluster, he has to go through a lot of sections that were kind of mediocre already as sonic. Chaos 4, and 2 sky chases. These were fine with Sonic's story since his stages are longer and more fullfilling but with tails it can be draining to play through.

Knuckles: Honestly not much to say, His stages are just worse sa2 knuckles and other than having to do chaos 4 again it's stomachable.

Amy: She's ass idk what to say, she's slow and not fun to control. Her stages are also meh

Big: I actually like fishing?? It's honestly kinda relaxing at times. Also almost nothing is reused from the rest of the game. It's fresh and kinda fun really I'm a fan.

Gamma: Mech stages are always fun to play for me. Big numbers go up and I'm all for it. Gamma is awesome to play as and he genuinely has a great story over other characters. I love this little guy

Anyways yeah maybe as a whole Sa1 is mediocre but honestly I don't have to play the bad part so moving forward I think I'll only be revisiting Sonic's story from now on.

As a kid I thought this game was a fever dream that didn't exist and I don't like that it actually is real what the fuck.

Y'all just scared of thunder plusle. Sure plusle is only viable in this one because he's one of the like 3 pokemon in this game who can get stab thunder which makes him goated in the rain but I think that's why I like this game so much. It took dumbass random pokemon and made them good in some way. Sure the way they did it was cut like most of the pokemon but y'know what I don't care plusle, ledian, and misdrevous the goats and you can't do shit about it

I think this is my favorite pokemon game to play outside Colosseum. Dare I say it, it's a pretty good rpg???? I'll expand on my opinions when I replay it sometime but from what I remember team building in this game rock. Also nuzlocking it was a total blast I recommend it if you're looking for a challenge

I don't know what to say about this game really. Y'know 3 years ago I used to argue about this game a lot with someone. Looking back it was just me being an immature idiot who couldn't handle a differing opinion. Maybe I'm still that immature idiot I'm not really sure. I think the reason why I felt so strongly about this game is because it was part of my childhood, it made me who I was now as a person. It had given me irreplaceable memories so when someone said it sucked I had felt as if they were calling a vital part of my childhood dogshit. Nowadays I get the complaints, this game isn't a great rpg. Everyone knows about the level curve being ass but honestly I don't really care anymore. This game is lovely, I love everything about it even the faults. I love Johto, I love walking around exploring areas in this game, I love Johto's new pokemon, I love that they can follow behind me. I love doing the battle frontier and the postgame, battling friends. Sure this game has faults but in the end it doesn't bother me much because this game is irreplaceable.

I don't enjoy team building in this game very much. I see no one mention on how you get all the good tms super late which can leave some of your pokemon lacking some incredibly crucial moves until very late game or even postgame. Like magnemite in this game, bro only gets like spark or electro ball until level 46 where he finally gets discharge. Which means little bro doesn't get good special electric stab until like late game which sucks balls. Pokemon like flygon don't even get eq or dragon claw super late so unless you want to spam bulldoze for most the game you're kinda fucked. Don't get me started on pansear. I love the little guy but using him in his actual home game is like the worse gaming experience ever because the flamethrower tm is super late and bro ONLY gets flame burst as stab. Flash cannon tm is also super late so if you thought you were going to use good steel stab on a pokemon like Lucario then fuck you, you're stuck with a worse move like iron tail for like the entire game. Maybe I was just using the wrong pokemon but while I was doing hardcore nuzlockes of this game everytime I looked at my box I just found all my pokemon I wanted to use to just not get good stab until super late which is a problem I never run into with Platinum or Emerald. It makes me almost prefer the old method of tms breaking because at least I could get tms of good moves for my mons even if I had to spend a few hours to get them. Also not to mention that a few unovan pokemon are ass purely because they have shit base stats and don't evolve until like level 60 for some god awful reason. Using the static braviary was fun at least, that's always a highlight of every b2w2 nuzlocke or playthrough I do. I always name my bird pokemon failure in honor of a staraptor I used once. He was awesome I should replay platinum sometime. Also PWT way lamer than battle frontier, why would I want nostalgia for kanto, johto, or sinnoh when I can play kanto, johto, or sinnoh on the same system. You don't even get 6v6 fights with the returning trainers besides Cynthia it's lame as hell.
