Kingdom Hearts 1 is that one game where I can sit here and just point out all the flaws it has, Like the clunky controls, the amount of annoying level design, and so and so forth, but I don't because it doesn't matter. Unlike sa1 the flaws this game has just don't even matter. I can't play this game and not have an absolute dorky smile plastered on my face. I mean how can I not? Have you seen the title screen? I mean the title screen alone makes the game deserve 5 stars. It's just so nice, so comforting. Not to mention some story beats. I still pop off when Goofy betrays the kings order to save Sora from Riku's fireball. The final Sora and Riku fight is still one of my favorites in the series it's still so cool. I never really fight the secret bosses or get ultima weapon when I play this game but honestly I don't need to. I'm more than happy to just play and beat this game normally. I can't really describe how happy this game makes me feel. Idk just listen to dearly beloved. https://youtu.be/Jk4P10nsq4c
Devil May Cry 5 was the gift that kept on giving, Every time I assumed the game had peaked the game just went "Yeah okay here's a cutscene of Dante busting it down Micheal Jackson style". It's addicting on how good the combat is, hell just fucking around in the training mode is fun. Basically every single combo you can think of probably works and it feels so satisfying to just smash enemies face it while doing the coolest fucking combos on the planet. I'll cover the characters from worse to best. First we got V, he's a summoner and honestly my least favorite to play as. He's still a load of fun, shooting out lightning with the griffin is feels awesome, and absolutely drilling into things on panther is satisfying as hell too, never to mention the fact he can summon this giant ass goblin thing that dishes out the pain like nothing else. He has to finish enemies off himself with his cane and chaining enemy kills together is such a joy. Now next up is Nero, he's the tutorial character but that doesn't mean he doesn't have depth to him, trust me he does. He has a mechanic where you can charge up his sword if you time pressing the shoulder button correctly and my god does it feel good. His basic sword combos ain't the only thing Nero has packing. He has an arsenal of devil breakers that really ups his combo game, This gives him a variety of moves from shooting his arm off like a rocket, drilling into the enemy, and so much more. You can even super charge them for a super power special move but unfortunately the devil breakers break soon after. Next up on the list we have Dante him. Dante has so much shit to him it'll be hard to explain. He can rotate between different styles and learning how to switch between them mid combo is so satisfying to pull off. He has trickster which lets him teleport to enemies, gunslinger which powers up his guns and gives them special moves, royal guard which lets him parry enemy attacks, and finally sword master which ups his already insane combo game by giving him even more moves to use. Dante also has so many weapons I'll only cover my favorites. First we got Dr.Faust this is basically a gambling hat, He can put a small hat onto enemies which makes them drop money, and he can also just shoot said money like a machine gun that absolutely shreds through bosses, not mention how he can just summon a meteor storm in gunslinger. Dante's classic pistols Ebony and Ivory are no slouch either, these are great for extending air time and juggles, they're basic but violently effective. There's a reason one of Dante's most iconic move with them is him finishing off final bosses with them while saying jackpot. One of his physical weapons is deadass just a motorbike which is as sick as it sounds, Dante splits them apart and uses them as chain saws and if you hold the attack button down he just drills into them, and of course he also runs over fools with them. Other one of his physical weapons are nunjucks, Unlike in DMC 3 these nunjucks not only have control over, electricity, ice, and fire, but can also turn it into a staff in swordmaster mode and honestly the entire weapons kit is sick as fuck. Not to mention all of Dante's weapons just flow and combo together so nicely he has some sick skills. Lastly we have Vergil and I'm just gonna link a on video on why Vergil is just the coolest mf ever created cause he explains better than I can. https://youtu.be/gQ-M3-TcC-g Anyways this game literally smoking sexy style just play it. I don't think anyone can really do it justice by talking about you just have to play it

Hey you! Like Donkey Kong Country? The first game was a little bit archaic for my taste. But when Nintendo released Donkey Kong Country 2 in 95 I think the series really came into its own, commercially and artistically. The whole game has really challenging platforming, and an angelic ost that really gives the game a big boost. It's been compared to Super Mario World, but I think DKC2 has more satisfying platforming. I think this game is Rare's undisputed masterpiece. A game so good that most people don't even think about the level design. But they should! It's not just a game about monkeys, It's a personal statement about the developers themselves.

I want to enjoy this game but as the levels in the game increase the more I realize I have to grind my characters up to par and that isn't fun because battles in this game can become very tedious when grinding and the exp you get from it isn't even very good. What's worse is that despite this game WANTING you to use every party member, they don't actually gain exp while benched which is annoying because that's been a stable qol of the genre for a while. I know this game is based on snes rpgs but it couldn't just skip ahead one console gen and borrow bench exp from FF7? So now I'm really just stuck between wanting to finish this game despite finding it grindy and just wanting to play something else like FF9
