this isn't an end-all apex of all platformers for me, but hot damn i can sure see why people love it. my only real complaint is that towards the end, there's a bit too many gotcha moments for my liking, sometimes enemy placements or mechanics don't have quite enough time to be introduced to the player. other than that, it's a miracle a launch title for the snes got it right this much. it succeeds at level design, at feeling like a cartoon without compromising the gameplay, at music and sound design, and at having a boatload of content for the time. even though you can theoretically play this game to the end in a few hours, you probably haven't seen half of the game's secrets! very admirable game for sure.
