An incredible-- no, unforgettable experience for me. The story and characters are amazing... but do not play the PlayStation Portable version.

A horribly crippled UI in basically every way, a broken battle system basically warped into working as a more "typical" RPG, and the pathetic difficulty makes this game... frankly, the gameplay is not fun at all.

Play the PlayStation version, with a fan translation. You will get a beautiful, tragic and engaging story alongside actually tolerable gameplay (on PSP, I hadn't even needed to use the Velvet Room at all, that's how bad it gets).

The best game I've ever played. This game altered the way I view my life permanently.

An incredible game with an interesting (if exaggerated) setting full of unique and memorable characters, an engaging story-line to follow, and so many branching paths, achievements and situations that it makes my head spin.

At the end of it all this cop is trapped in an unjust world with unjust people, and yet even then you can play your cards right and help him heal; or, alternatively, make him a complete shit-show. And it is amazing.

Issues arise when some of the ways of progression become far more linear, requiring very specific checks that you may not initially be able to clear-- there's no branching there, you either pass or fail and try again a bit later. Those bits take the wind out of my sails a bit. No game's perfect, though... and this one is honestly pretty damn close for me.
