While in many ways this does end up being playing Breath of the Wild again (not necessarily a bad thing), the added depth really changes the feel of the game. The sky, caves, and Depths not only add a lot more to explore, but entirely new ways of exploring. This isn't discovering a new world, but breaking the limits and boundaries of a deeply familiar one.

The new engineering angle to this with Ultrahand and the Zonai devices goes a long way to changing up how this plays. Thanks to the (often ridiculous) contraptions you can build, distances are easily traversable if you can think of a way to traverse them. Similarly, the process of solving puzzles is less about figuring out a précisé intended solution, and more about making something really stupid and then going "Oh my god, that actually worked." And somehow this never feels game-breaking, but instead just gives so many little moments of joy.

Also, while they tragically got rid of Gerudo Femboy Link, the Frostbite shirt makes up for it, imo.
