Played about eight hours and got a bit bored. I think the overwhelming length of this series (9 games with more on the way) weighed on me a bit and caused my playthrough to feel a bit oppressive.
I do enjoy how this game is a JRPG crafted with a baker's precision, it feels like it was made from a classic recipe book and made well. It is outstandingly average in a way I do appreciate. The combat, exploration, dialogue, graphics, and music are all completely adequate! That being said, in a world with one trillion video games to play, the recipe-crafted JRPG's JRPG doesn't super appeal to me.
