DNF Duel is another great Arc Systems work fighter that features a fun unique cast of character to play as.

The game's artstyle, animation, and music are all amazing, and the world itself is beautiful.
The game features a story mode for 15 of the 16 total characters in the game. Each of the characters have unique abilities and super moves that make it a joy to play.

DNF Duel Features the flowing characters (they don't have names, as they're more so classes of characters to play as):

- Berserker - embowed with demonic powers, and a giant sword. He sort of is a fusion of Asura and any final fantasy character with a big sword. He wants to live in peace. His rival is the Vanguard

- Vanguard - Skilled warrior, similar to Maximus from Gladiator (2000), however unlike Maximus who wants to show how the Emperor is an asshole, but in this case, Vanguard is an asshole. He uses a spear to do deadly attacks, and has an endless hunger for battle, striving for someone to defeat him one day. His rival is the Berserker.

- Ranger - Ranger looks like a mafia gangster and is cunning and likable, and primarily uses a cowboy like battle style of the luck of the draw. He wants revenge against the Empyrean government for destroying his home and friends because the Empyreans assumed his people were terrorist. His rival is the Launcher.

- Launcher - The Launcher is a scientist engineer who uses massive explosive guns and laser weapons in her arsenal. She wants to protect the Empyrean Government by making it stronger to protect people, while trying to atone for her sins of the past. Her rival is the Ranger.

- Swift Master - A Dark Elf magic user who uses the ability of the wind to levitate and uses the wind to attack similar to that of an airbender from Avatar: The Last Airbender. His goal is to find a type of magic strong enough to stop a flood from destroying his home. His rival is the Enchantress.

- Enchantress - Small Dark Elf girl who has the ability to control dolls with her magic, as well as casting curses and barriers to protect herself. She's very mischievous and sneaky, and her entire reason for what she does is that she's bored and wants to see the world and fight strong people. Her rival is the Swift Master.

- Hitman - A serious hitman apart of a hitman organization. He uses guns and a katana to take out his targets dealing brutal blows with both weapons. His goal is to take out any targets his assigned to with his fellow Hitmen, and to deal with the mystery of the Wonders activation. His rival is the Trouble Shooter.

- Trouble Shooter - A chill mercenary who uses a gun and traps to attack, he's very chill overall. His goal is to take jobs and get money, and relax and drink alot. His rival is the Hitman.

- Grappler - A master of martial arts who wants to get stronger by defeating Masters of dojos he visits, in order to perfect his perfect martial art, as well as find out if there is a martial art he doesn't know about. He uses brutal throws, and grapples that can be charged up to cause massive amounts of damage. His rival is the Striker.

- Striker - Born in a dojo that was later destroyed by a martial arts master, having losing her masters and friends, she seeks revenge against the person Grappler.

- Crusader - A tall, muscular, and humble holy priest crusader who uses a giant hammer to smack down and away his enemies, along with the holy powers of God. His goal is to figure out the mysterious Holy energy that is the Will. His rival is the Inquisitor.

- Inquisitor - Crazy religious woman who uses an axe and fire to attack and burn her enemies. She is similar to the crusader in terms of how both represent the same religion however she's quick to jump the gun, and smite those who are not with the church. Her goal is to "cleanse" those imbued with the Will. Her rival is the Crusader.

- Kunoichi - A ninja dark elf who uses ninja moves and kunais to attack her opponent. She also has the abilities of fire, water, and lighting at her disposal to cause more damage. Her goal is not really her own, but it's mostly to investigate the will under orders of her master. Her rival is the Ghostblade.

- Ghost Blade - A fallen warrior resurrected by his sword, that act similar to that of a stand from JOJO. GhostBlade and Ghost battle along side eachother via Ghostblade being able to use Ghost as a helper when doing simultaneous attacks as super attacks. He doesn't speak much, nor have that much of a goal, but it can be presumed he wants to die at peace, as does Ghost. His rival is the Kunoichi.

- Dragon Knight - Dragon Warrior who has the ability to become a giant dragon, but also has a humanoid form with a helper small dragon. She fights with a Dragon Sword tail and a Dragon Head Gauntlet she can use to bite the opponent with and fly in the air. Her goal is to help the future of the dragon race. She has no real rival within the game, as all characters can be considered her rival as she is from the past.

- The Lost Warrior - The final boss of the game, he sort of looks like a mix between a Neanderthal and a Viking. He uses the power of will to do devastating, and power attacks. He's able to summon glittery giant sword spikes to attack, as well as switching places with the opponents he faces. He's essentially the Akuma or Shao Khan of DNF DUEL. His rival is the entire cast of DNF DUEL as he is the final boss.

The game story applies the same for all the cast of characters as it has the characters meeting with an "angel" named Nemyr who promises them glory and gifts if they obtain this energy called "Will" from other fighters on the characters adventures.
There are a total of 9 chapters, with 8 of them specifically having you fight, as chapter 1 is just a prologue, and the other 8 chapters have you fight other characters, with minimal dialogue in between segments.
The final chapter always has you fight the Lost Warrior, as SURPRISE SURPRISE Nemyr was lying to you the whole time, this causes her to summon him.
He respectfully fights and after being defeated, he banishes Nemyr to heaven and releases the Will within his body and returns it to all the dimensions he obtained his will from and the story ends all the same for all 15 characters.

Personally I find it lame the developers didn't take the time to have a epilogue for each characters, in terms of a picture still of what happened to each character after the fight. With many of the conflicts being unresolved post fight, like Swift Master trying to save his home. It's really lame that all the endings are just the same ending of Lost Warrior releasing his Will.

The game has a fun online multiplayer aspect, and fun customization with the 3d chibi models, along with the customization of the player cards and profile picture.

The game also has an arcade mode with 3 different difficulties and a chance to fight a stronger version of the Lost Warrior if you win all matches against all opponents before making it to the Powered Up Lost Warrior.

The game is another great Arc Systems works fighting game, but doesn't reach the level of fun of Guilty Gear, Blaz Blue, Or Dragon Ball FighterZ (My favorite arc systems works game, love FighterZ).

Still I recommend playing this as it's a fun fighting game to own, and luckily I was able to get a physical copy of it.
