In a world where dozens of indie titles have nearly "Out-Metroided" Metroid, DREAD brings the franchise back in a big, satisfying way. Samus has never controlled better, and the new mechanics and combat scenarios makes for some addicting bursts of gameplay. I think whatever they were trying to do with Samus' character arc in the last few minutes felt odd, but that's Nintendo for you: Gameplay first, story second.

Overall, one of the Switch's very best.
