I can't believe it took me until the third game for me to finally get the gameplay loop of Battle Network. Oh well, I think I might as well try the rest of the series if I'm already halfway through.
It's a decent game but I wouldn't sing much praises for the gameplay. It's very 'basic' in terms of platforming challenges, but I wouldn't subject myself to the bullet hell levels ever again. Heard a sequel is in the works so I hope the devs add something that makes it mechanically stand out from other platformers.
Absolutely fun JRPG, and point where I realized generic =/= bad. Love the cast, and I hope it does get its sequel as baited. Hope this doesn't affect my opinion of ToCS1/2 later story-wise. This game knows its anime, and it hides no shame in that.
Though, combat could use some polish. Theres fun in trying to hit the high combo count, but high focus on elemental weakness for S-Ranking does make first visits limit what party I would use. Enemy variety is also limited, especially with most bosses being just big monsters. Would like there to be more than that.
