this is the most happy ive been with a pokemon game since x and y. its not perfect, not by a long shot, but ive had a good time and that makes me happy

it was pretty good but the fart jokes get old really quickly and in the last 2 or so hours i was really just wanting it to be over. good game tho
played it with a friend, was a bit weird and wacky but no matter what we could always laugh at the bad animation so that gets an extra star for me

i used to think that this was one of the best pokemon games due to the amount of content, and while it has a lot, i was looking at it with rose tinted glasses. it has a lot of problems, namely the pokemon variety and the level curve. not crazy to revisit this one anytime soon.

if the dlc for this game is even close to as good as octo expansion was this will probably be my favorite game ever. but for now I have to dock points because its not finished (and honestly, hasn't even started)
what makes splatoon so good, in my opinion, is how it evolves with time. new weapons, new gear, new stages, things are always changing. in particular, the weekly weapon drops of the first two games kept me coming back. with no sign of that at the moment, this game feels like it could be extremely easy to burn out on.
if all we get is one splatfest a month and a big run every once in a while in between 3 month intervals, I can see myself dropping the game faster than any other splatoon. but we aren't even a month in yet, so I'll remain optimistic. I'm hoping I'm proved wrong, and I keep finding reasons to come back to splatoon 3. it has the potential to be the best, but a lot of things aren't looking so good.

octo expansion dares to ask the question of "what if we made a splatoon singleplayer game good?" free from the shackles of why story modes in the main games are doomed to feel subpar, octo expansion really is able to knock it out of the park.
