Despite the fact that this is my most played game on Steam, I can't give it 5 stars with a good conscience. Dead by Daylight is definitely flawed, but it also offers an experience that no other game can. Many have tried and all have failed to do an asymmetrical that is as successful as DBD. It's a love letter to the horror genre that provides compelling multiplayer experiences on both sides (Killer/Survivor) that the game provides.

Are a lot of the newest additions to the game pretty undercooked? Yes. Does that change the fact that this game is positioned at the top of its genre with virtually NO competition? No, it does not.

I did not give Elden Ring the benefit of the doubt as a longtime skeptic of FromSoftware's style. To be honest, this game made me look like a total idiot in its wake. After spending over a year confidently saying that I knew I wouldn't like it, this game brought me in and gave me the most genuinely unforgettable fantasy RPG experience I have ever had. The characters, the artwork, the pacing... All perfect. A nitpick would be that I'm not the biggest fan of the score/music, but everything else is so VASTLY superior to its competitors that it's almost not worth bringing up.
