Honestly stuff like this just makes me feel mental, like I've been playing the same game for well over a decade but they keep patching it and gradually removing all the aspects I found compelling. Please consider something new.

What does this mean. Would be cool to have some context as to what you're referring to
@Wistful I loved Dark Souls, but I've found every successive sequel or soulslike to be less focused and more bloated, less claustrophobic and more barren, less labyrinthine and more linear, less mysterious and more predictable, less unique and more generic. I feel this formula has been run into the ground, with hugely diminishing returns, and I think it's time everyone moved on. But then they keep selling and reviewing well, so what do I know?

@JimTheSchoolGirl I see, thanks for the response, I was just curious as to what you thought was less compelling. I think it's for sure an easy genre to get burnt out on pretty quickly so you really have to pick carefully which to play
@wistful TBH I think it's the genre itself that I'm burnt out on, perhaps even the concept of "genre" itself, or at least in the way they become homogenised. I'm older now, and old fashioned I guess, I don't have time for franchises or roguelikes or live services, I just want the occasional unique treat :)
