At first I was really turned off by the gameplay because it felt like everything I liked Metal Gear for not being (a piss filter shooter-like game) and it felt like it tried to adjust itself to people who just bought the PS3 and didn't have any other game to play so they had to make a game anyone in that era could enjoy
And I feel like the gameplay is a disaster because I couldn't really enjoy it after Act 2 where I was having fun sniping everyone vs Act 5's ship part where I had to fight Gekkos

But as someone getting into the series and having played all the others I really liked the final game of the saga aspect of it, having all sorts of characters return was refreshing and seeing them full body with the new models felt strange at first but I really digged it afterwards, also the story honestly had its stones like the Snakehound shit that was just plot device and things like the absolute bitch that is Naomi but I was pretty much glued to the screen at many moments

All in all I still like the other three better but this one was good too

I have an absolute and raging trauma with jungle animals, so the moment I knew not only did I have to see them, but I also had to HUNT them I knew I wasn't going to enjoy it, and I was just going to watch it on YouTube to not interact with the crocodiles (which I absolutely hate and am grossed out by) and snakes (same thing, I despise them) but I took my time and put a bullet in all of them and damn, this game is really good

I think this ending is much better than MGS2's but the progression was a little bit flat, especially considering the stealth part is harder with the Camo Index (which I enjoyed I guess but I'm okay with it not returning at all) and pretty much it's not a game I enjoy playing but the story is magnificent and I doubt there's a villain better than The Boss ever

That half a star is because exploring the Big Shell is a pain in the balls but other than that

Absolute peak fiction

I mean, it's okay if you're 12? I did like how they made the Pokemon world in this one but the pacing in this game is horrendous and I hate when you literally predict everything but are forced to keep investigating for half an hour just to prove a point
I mean I don't think it's bad, I'm also surprised this game doesn't pander to Kanto and toned down Charizard compared to the movie (which I haven't seen) so there's that
I'll just play the second game out of obligation

I guess I did like the fusion thing in the start, but it became meh afterwards, I played the randomizer which I guess is better but I just can't with the fusion names (I play in Switch mode) so they have Mewdos and you wouldn't know if it's Mew or Mewtwo for example
Also I played Radical Red pretty much in January and I fucking hate Kanto so I guess I knew what was coming but ugh
I don't really want to play the post-game because I want to build a new team so meh, it was okay and was even challenging at the end but the engine feels clunky at times and since the developers are done with it, it won't look or play better so I don't want to bother much
I did like the opportunity to fuse my favorite shitmons with better ones like my Chandelure+Furret that was actually pretty nice but I'd rather play Mystery Dungeon if I want to play with bad Pokemon

Big Otacon and Solid Snake fan excited to play Metal Gear for the first time

I was on board with Shion's motives up until the Satoko incident in the end
That's where I just stopped sympathizing with her altogether

I thought I would become a Shion understander and looking back on it, I've also become obsessed with someone who just shows me basic decency but everything that comes with Shion being so obsessed is something I couldn't get behind
Really great arc and writing btw, Satsuki Yukino and her voice direction killed it absolutely, and I also liked seeing Keiichi as a not-protagonist, doesn't have the same vibes but still manages to feel human

I loved the "having played all other games" payoff part, but no game should take 120 hours to be interesting
Act 1 was awful, Act 2 was pure filler, Act 3 was only good at the end and I did like the Finale but honestly it didn't hit as hard as I thought
I don't think it's a bad game but it will never be my favorite, and I don't plan on replaying it at all
I also fucking hated the game dickriding Juna, it was tolerable in CS3 (it wasn't) but god all that talk about being the SSS' voice and representative and being "the bridge between Class VIIs" when she's an absolute bitch all the time is just awful

Since I got the need to play the console arcs I will be doing so and logging them as replays of Himatsubushi cause they don't have their own page

TARAIMAWASHI
Okay arc, I was kinda set off by it being too similar to Onikakushi and that made it a bit boring, and even the cast said that it was impossible to discuss because it was too short and said mostly nothing, so yeah, it's okay

SOMEUTSUSHI
Overall I felt like this was more worldbuilding than a proper arc, obviously it's because it's a question arc but even then I don't really feel like I got much out of this one, I did like how the relationships between characters played out in the end when I thought nothing of them in the start (I actually really like Chisato) and the mystery after was pretty nice, I'm looking forward to the answer arc

HIMATSUBUSHI
Pretty confusing and I thought at first it wouldn't really tell anything, in the end I found that Rika's real personality and her already knowing how it would all end didn't really need an arc of its own and could've been more comfortably put in the actual story
Also I hate Daisuke Ono's voice so this wasn't comfortable to read but I appreciated the Ooishi spotlight

KAGEBOUSHI
It was pretty boring at first and the changes in protagonists so often to avoid advancing the plot naturally wasn't something I liked much but the character building felt pretty good here, everyone has such a strong personality and Tomoe and Chisato basically carried the arc

Ryukishi did it again
Even though I liked Satoko's and Keiichi's relationship halfway through it got pretty unfulfilling and I wanted them to end on better terms :(
But other than that Keiichi my goat, Satoko peak

Looks and feels soulless...
I couldn't stand playing it

I cannot believe people saying it was slow, it had DRASTICALLY less slice of life than Onikakushi
I really liked Shion's introduction and Rena's serious personality in this arc, and the mystery was nice
I really hate/love how Ryukishi makes me love the characters before fucking everything up

I also liked how sexual it got between Ooishi and Keiichi sometimes like I live for that

I'm literally downloading this shit on mobile data
Give me the fucking peak already

Finished
Peak....
Even though the characters could've been better, I expected more from Nikol and Glimmer specifically but they did absolutely nothing during all the DLC

Right down the middle I was like "Bruh I don't care about slice of life anymore just get to the mystery"
Highly regretted that
