This came in late and quickly established itself as an honest to goodness GOTY contender. What starts off as a Stanley Parableesque examination of storytelling and the role of a narrator in a story quickly layers on Disco Elysium style internal personalities in a truly engaging and spellbinding way that draws you in and won't let you go until you figure out what's going on at the absolutely brilliant ending. I started this game late at night intending to play for a half hour or so before bed and I wasn't able to stop playing until credits rolled three hours later. It's rare at this point in my life for a piece of media to keep me genuinely surprised and unsure of where it's going to end up, but this one truly kept me guessing right up to the very end. And boy, what an end it was. The brilliant conclusion can play out in many different ways, and the most fascinating thing is that as you talk to people you'll quickly find out that depending on your perspective there's people who consider each different possibility to be the "good" ending. I'm gonna be digging into this for a second playthrough VERY soon as there is an incredible amount of content that you flat out cannot experience in a single playthrough. Putting aside the brilliant narrative, the art and vocal performances are brilliant, and do a great job of taking two characters and putting them into many different roles as the game goes on. Cannot reccomend this one enough.
