Humanity timeskips technology by 200 years just to get fucked over by that. Space marine then fights racism and robots in mundane space.

So anyways, this was my first real experience with the mass effect franchise. The title felt like a lie by the end when there was very little effect at all. This game is like star wars: knights of the old republic but as a third person shooter, which sounds tight as fuck right? Okay now what If I mentioned that the game has Incredibly mundane combat, terrible AI, lackluster writing, not fun to navigate maps, but an atleast decent foundation for what could be a good game? I think my biggest problem here is, I see the vision. They end up setting up a very interesting universe full of different planets, races, and cultures. The enemies are also such a sick idea for a sci-fi genre. The problem is the execution of it all is so damn boring omfg. The game is about a 15 hour playthrough but man did I really have to push myself through boring mission after boring mission just for the story to not even be that great untill the end of the game. The design for the alien races we're very cool (except the humans who all look godawful and expressionless), i loved alot of thier designs especially the ones you get in your party, my favorites have to be the buhg guys and the one race who wears a cool daft punk mask. I came into this game hoping to see a game that was popular when I was younger but came out disappointed but hopeful for the sequels. I genuinely think there can be an amazing sauce here, it just wasnt done cooking is all. So for now, I look forward to Mass Effect 2 and pray they fix alot of the mistakes of the first

I wouldn't fully recommend the game unless you REALLY want to play the whole series. The story isnt much so you can just look up an easy summary of it and just play the 2nd game is my idea, assuming the 2nd game is better.
