This is a dream video game in so many ways. It's already insane enough that Metroid Dread released in the first place, but then it turned out to be absolutely incredible too! This game just feels amazing to play, the mobility and combat are the best Metroid has ever had. The boss fights are phenomenal and creative, with the final boss being genuinely one of the best I've ever fought. The level design is masterful, and even after beating it I'm still having a great time exploring deeper and finding more secrets. I finished in 7:25 with 49% item completion and I'm going right back in to bring that to 100%. This has immediately become my all-time favorite 2D Metroid and is probably second only in the series to Prime 1 for me. I'm just overjoyed at how satisfying this game was... absolutely worth the 20 year wait.
