Bought it on a whim to pass the time at a job over the summer, expecting it to be a decent but annoyingly retro-wanky game. What I got instead was a genuinely incredibly well crafted game that did pay tribute to old school games, but with plenty of modern design sensibilities, superb level design, and tons of fun content to dig into. I really need to replay it, it's been too long since my last time. I'll happily welcome Shovel Knight cameos in whatever he wants to appear in - bring them on.
