This is the only game I can think of that made me cry, and for that alone it's the best Final Fantasy.

I'm sure there's some others tbh but FFIX is always the big one that most got me, got me so hard it makes it hard to remember any other time. Dark secret, I actually still haven't gotten around to FFX, whoops! Hoping to maybe finally do it in 2022.
that would be cool, I ended up loving X and the ending is honestly the most I cried for any game
