Honestly the first touhou fangame by Ankabe Spa (Youyou Kengeki Musou or "datyoumu game" as it's known in the west for some reason) is much better than this.

LoT1 is a very good game in its own right but I'd recommend playing the sequel over this. The sequel removes most of the jank and has a lot more character progression mechanics. Both games have unconnected excuse plots so you don't need to worry about missing out on anything narratively. What I will say though is that LoT1 hands down has a better soundtrack than the sequel.

Would I be allowed to say that this is my favourite touhou game? It's definitely my favourite touhou fangame at the very least and one of my favourite RPGs. LoT2 is an unapologetically classic style dungeon crawler with hard as nails boss fights, an insane variety of characters and statistical character progression, and an interesting combat system that is basically ATB done right.

Like pokemon but better because it has touhou characters and more engaging gameplay mechanics/bosses. Kinda like a middle ground between Pokemon and SMT in terms of monster collecting game complexity.

The only persona game I've cared to complete. Great story, atmosphere and characters, gameplay kinda stinky tho
