Detective stuff blow ass but the cast is lowkey stronger than Yakuza, the combat is fun and the final boss is the best on the series. I hope Johnny&s being shitheads won't close the series or write Yagami out of it. Then again PC ports are a thing now so maybe they're more lenient.
Annoying memes and individuals who attached themselves to the series like an illness aside this is very good. Majima is the most fun gameplay in the series yet. I still think it's carried by his highest moments and it being the breakthrough for the series in the west.
The more I think about it the more I think there's a lot of room for improvement for the gameplay. Still for a first try it's ok and the writing is super good. But please let Kiryu fade away after 2 fucking fakeouts stop milking that man !!!!!!
Yakuza 1 but better because better controls and Nishiki cutscenes but worse because obnoxious padding, majima everywhere and kiwami finishers. It's better than Y1 but by a very small margin
This game's fate was sadly to end as a promising prototype, its potential was fullfiled in 2 but traces of brilliance were already there. It's a shame the behind the scene of that game really fucked it
Kino for 80% of it then fumbles on the finish line with the worst final boss in the series and some of its most egregious plotholes. I still think that shouldn't erase how good the game is until the end.
Cool characters, ok story, shit gameplay. Still good but really a letdown after Yakuza 2.
The worst leveling system known to man, a huge downgrade from Yakuza 5. Clunky dragon engine debut that fucked the combat. It's still a good game but my god is it a disappointing end for kiryu as the protagonist. The ending was great at first but à few years later after seeing Kiryu return for 2 fucking games it really loses its impact
Everything wrong with Yakuza 6 is there. Everything right with Yakuza 2 is there but worse. Only play it if you can't play the original or if you're the kind of guy born without a soul or sense of taste
