aka "Lara Croft knows she's a white savior trope and feels bad about it."

level design and pacing don't feel as tight as I recall the first two games in the reboot trilogy feeling, despite a welcome increase in puzzles and platforming that ought to have made this the best in the trilogy. still enjoyable, though

it is absolutely giving them too much credit, though while playing I rationalized the un-tightening of the encounter design and gunplay as part of the white savior apologia. can't very well have Lara feeling bad about all the violence she brings to indigenous communities while the player relishes in shooting those same people in the face
