DEFINITELY not as hard as everyone says it is (unless you're going for 100%), maybe that's because I played co-op and that makes the game significantly less easier, but oh well this game is still a blast. what can I say, with the bright, handrawn animation, nailing it's own style, you can easily tell all the blood and tears put into it. And (most) of the bosses are fantastic, and well crafted. It does however have its moments of jank, some of the run and gun stages kinda sucked, and there's the little stuff like how you get no invincibility frames after a super could make you fail over and over again.
