This game is magical and really brings in a lot of the joys of what makes a fun video game.

Even if 100% becomes a chore at the end (objectives constantly repeated, padding numbers, each course room having two moons in them, THE MONEY TREE...) the first playthrough is an absolute blast and it's so fun to move Mario around even if the jump options end in jump toss dive toss dive each time it gets the job done.

The worlds are filled to the brim with imagination and inspiration, a huge departure from 3D World from Tostrena to New Donk to Luncheon to Bowser's to the Moon, there's just so much heart love and life in each world and each moment. The movement is so fluid and fun and Mario makes sure to express that feeling too. Watching others master the game is an absolute delight. It really did make me feel like a child for a bit playing it for the first time, and it's really rare a game captures that magic like Odyssey did.
