I never played through a Wario game prior to this and I have to say, it's quite an interesting little platformer. On top of featuring a much more bizarre world with food named locations and very "Wario-esque" inhabitants, playing as the obese stinky garlic man himself lends to a drastic shift in gameplay that focuses more on smashing things and exploring every nook and cranny to find treasure. The game is built pretty well for this might I add, with levels offering diverting paths and cycling through different power ups that you can use to get around. It even takes a note from Super Mario World and allows you to alter certain levels with special blocks, though this isn't expanded upon to the extent of that game. With a good chunk of levels to boot and even different endings based on how much treasure you collect, there's certainly a meaty amount of content here for a Gameboy game. I also liked how there were multiple ways to take out enemies though it sometimes resulted in some wacky hit detection.
