Really nice Spice & Wolf content. I feel sort of bad that I didn’t sit through the monotony to get a better ending, but if Spice and Wolf has taught me anything, it’s about the journey and not the destination. Maybe I’ll return someday.

Eh, I just wanted to play a racing game. Jank as fuck with surprisingly fun level design (look wise not like... structurally if that makes any sense) and fun cast of characters. Items range from useless to downright broken. Lots of memories with this but there isn’t too much content. I played through all difficulties and really didn't notice a difference.

I've also played the arcade version of this before in a Red Robin! Big orange seat and everything!!

It's amazing how much better this one is. Music slaps so hard. I'm pretty sure Oil Ocean is gonna be in my head for the rest of my life. Metropolis Zone level design can fuck off.

I remember the dentist I would go to as a kid had a few arcade cabinets so while I was getting my teeth cleaned, I would hear sounds of Sonic 2, Ms. Pacman, and Sonic Spinball.

Happy 25th Warped! Rest in Peace Brendan O'Brien. This game is everything to me.

Played this for the music and yeah the music is the best part. It’s interesting to think of the time when these graphics were peak. Also interesting to think that they wanted to take Sonic in this direction. Sonic’s acceleration is way too high and my fingers hurt.

Oh man, where did the soul go? Besides the graphical fidelity and camera angles while the ball is flying, I think this game is a step down. Presentation feels very sterile… really lacking in the wackiness of the previous games. You could argue that from HSG3, the wackiness has been going down, but we’re at the bottom with this game. Also, caddies have almost no presence in this game! It was fun watching your caddy sprint towards the ball, or you move your camera to them and they wave. Hell, in HSG4, if the ball is headed towards them on a drive, they would say something funny and duck to dodge it. Where’s all that personality? Greg would tear Marta to shreds sorry for speaking the truth.
The control is great, but not as tuned as previous entries are. The ball rolls WAY too much making gauging your shot feels more imprecise. The marker is not where your ball is projected to land anymore (give or take 10 yards) but instead is where it’s gonna roll (give or take 30 – 50 yards). Also, they got rid of the contour lines during your shot so you have little to no idea what the terrain elevation is from where you’re hitting and where you want your ball to go. Sounds like a small change, but on more difficult maps… god. UH ALSO THE JAPANESE VERSION HAS KIRYU I WISH WE GOT THAT!

Holy shit. The writing is so fucking choice and puzzles got way harder. The buildup is a bit lethargic compared to 999, but WOW is the payoff the most kino scifi shit I've ever experienced. Also, "She's not anywhere" is one of the most soulcrushing sentences ever.

A little jank but I think it was supposed to be a partial love letter to street racing of 80s and 90s. Due to time, it has now become a love letter to the late 90s fantasy. They left their mark on the streets of time. Such a joy to hear and look at the whole time. I did not like getting locked out of the last race and not having ANY clue what to do, I just needed to get good!! But quality writing and Bosozoku’d Evos/Limos/Trucks got me to the end. DREAMING ON THE ROAD. THE LEGEND OF SHOU AKASAKI WILL NEVER DIE.

Lovely artstyle with some fun little writing. I love all of the characters so much. Those blues are just UNREAL, the color palette is incredible. The line “The time we have spent with you is priceless.” got me for some reason. Also the eating scene was straight out of ERASED but it still got me like it got me in ERASED!

Such a beautiful game that I am very happy I played. Dream team of developers make a once in a lifetime video game. The Akira Toriyama art makes me so happy and made me smile throughout the game. So little fat and virtually no bullshit. Great time overall. MARLEE SPRITES MAKE ME SMILE ESPECIALLY HER JUMPING ONE IDK WHY

WOW THE ENDING WAS INCREDIBLE AND I LOVE THE DRAGON ENGINE. Gameplay was such a step up (even if I miss the different “modes” of combat), story was a HUGE step up, no bowling 0/10 BUT GOLF 10/10, MAJIMA STORY AND CALLBACKS IN THE CABERET CLUB. Arguably one of the worst optimized games I have ever played on PC. Took multiple patches and lots of hope to get the game to run with ps4 controller icons, with the controller, not at 80C for my CPU. DUAL LIGHTSABERS! The ladies in this game were badasses. MUSIC HARD 2000S LETS GOOOO, I can’t wait to see a cutscene in a Yakuza game that isn’t recycled ong also Osaka Castle was KINO

After Zero/Kiwami, this game takes a billion steps back. It FEELS like an early PS3 game (like QTEs and mocap). Cutscenes are beautiful tho, I’ve been yearning for this since Zero! I love the concept of the revelations but why tf can you fail it? Goddamn old man dad Kiryu. Anyways, I liked when the story would get complicated, and it shows hints of a good story but is pretty shit most of the time. I wish they relegated anything that happened in Okinawa to be optional, it would obliterate any sense of pace the game managed to build up. So glad Rikiya died, his "ANIKI" call will be in my head forever. >:((( ANDRE RICHARDSON BASED, MINE BASED. Hamazaki got jobbed which sucked because he had the coolest cutscene in the game.

It’s astonishing how better the combat is!. 3 felt like the combat system was trying but not fully there, but in 4 oh we cookin!! And each character has their own combat style?? Let’s fuckin go!! Story is extremely convoluted with insane twists and turns that sometimes are total bullshit but yeah I’m all for it! Revelations are so much better now and I didn’t feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff this time around! Thank you for splitting up the progression like this, shit is KINO. Also, the fights with Saito are incredible because of their difficulty and stakes at play don’t @ me. Also, whoever decided to make Kiryu just FEEL strong as fuck compared to everyone else when he enters into the story, THANK YOU. TIGER DROPS FOR YOU. Also Sonic music cameos; very nice SEGA. "Eh, it's a chase scene." but they are so cool this time!!
